Large Family Villa Sleeps 15

I have to say that this gite was absolutely wonderful. We would love to go there again. The kitchen equipment was first class (better than at home), everything worked, the gite was spacious and very welcoming for children and the owners went to a lot of trouble to ensure that the holiday was perfect for both adults and children. The nearby beach was patrolled by lifeguards and was a surfer's paradise and the sand perfect for sandcastles. There are a number of other attractions nearby, all of which were well worth seeing and which we visited.

We had a great week at the Beau Rivage villa. There were 9 of us staying there, including 2 children and a young teen. There was plenty of room for us all and we loved making use of the pool in the afternoon and enjoying dinners around the large dining table. It was a hot week when we were there but we had rented fans and we made sure to close the shutters during the day. This kept the house relatively cool, despite not being able to use the mini-split air conditioners.
We loved eating around the large dining table and relaxing at night on the comfortable sofas. We would have enjoyed eating outside and using the pizza oven/BBQ but it definitely would have needed some clean up to be able to do that. The seating outside was very comfortable though and we loved seeing the visiting birds etc. The reason why we wouldn't give this 5 stars, despite the great week we had was that we found that the kitchen equipment that was provided didn't really enable us to cook family meals for the number of people in our party (9), which was something we were really looking forward to. The villa could use some better and larger pans, pots, better knives, roasting dishes etc. That being said, we enjoyed buying things from the market and local supermarkets to have buffets/charcuterie etc.
Longville-sur-Mer is a great town and a wonderful base for exploring the Vendee region. We loved the market, the little restaurant down town, and the amazing boulangerie. We rented bikes and explored the trails. We also visited several of the local beaches and they were all great. It really is a nice area to be with family. Our youngest kids enjoyed the playroom and everyone loved cooling off in the pool.
Donna and Jay were very responsive throughout the week, which we really appreciated it. We had a great family holiday!

What a wonderful stay at Beau Rivage! My family and my sister’s family stayed here for a week in July, and it was just perfect. Donna was so helpful pre-arrival, and answered our questions about the area and the house without hesitation. We arrived on a Sunday and so no shops were open, so the offer of some food and drinks on arrival was fantastic, as was the opportunity to hire beach towels. We arrived into beautiful Longeville-sur-mer on a sunny day and opened the house door and we loved it straight away! A lovely, airy downstairs with patio doors that opened up to the pool - a very safe and considered pool for young children - with lots of sun loungers and chairs to lounge around on. The bedrooms and bathrooms were thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need - along with a fab drinks fridge. Bright, airy, and so comfortable. We felt at home, away from home. Donna also had lots of special touches throughout the house which made it very special. A little treasure hunt for the kids when we arrived which was thoughtful and fun! (I remember going to villas in France when I was a child, and there was nothing like this haha!). The area itself is beautiful. Right next to the house is a play park, and a short walk to the village took you to the BEST bakery which we got breakfast and baguettes at every morning, and some lovely little restaurants and a creperie. The village is so clean and pretty. There is a larger supermarche in the village too which is very handy. The coast area is lovely with so many nice beaches - and warm sea! And just over 1 hour drive from the airport - excellent location. I will not hesitate to recommend Beau Rivage for a family holiday. We had a brilliant time and we aim to be back very soon. The house is impressively well set up for children with the playroom, stair gates, monitors, lunchboxes, nappy changing table, high chairs etc etc. It also has the best stocked kitchen of any holiday house I’ve been to, which makes a big difference when cooking for large groups!

The playroom was a wonderland for the kids, offering an array of toys and equipment that kept the kids engaged for hours. From the ball pit to the dressing up clothes and the selection of dinosaurs, it was a kid’s paradise - my kids wouldn’t take the dresses off and wore them out to dinner most nights! The heated pool and hot tub were a hit, offering a perfect setting for relaxation and enjoyment. But what truly set Beau Rivage apart was the outstanding service provided by Donna. She went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was hassle-free and unforgettable. Our kids had the time of their lives exploring the playroom and enjoying all the toys and equipment. From the train tracks to the building blocks, they were kept entertained throughout our stay. It was a delight to see them so happy and content. Beau Rivage is the perfect choice for families looking for a home away from home, where kids can have a blast, and adults can relax. We can’t wait to return to Beau Rivage.
