About This Property
Ursula Gîte at Holidays-Normandy is a spacious 17th-century barn conversion set in the peaceful Normandy countryside just five minutes from Coutances. Sleeping 8–10 guests, it is ideal for families, groups of friends, multi-generational holidays and dog-friendly breaks.
The gîte combines the character of an old Norman agricultural building with the comforts of a modern self-catering holiday home. Inside, you'll find generous living and dining space, a well-equipped kitchen, three sleeping areas and two bathrooms. A ground-floor double bedroom and accessible wet room provide a convenient option for guests with reduced mobility.
Outside, the gîte has its own securely enclosed private garden with outdoor dining, seating and a barbecue, ideal for relaxed meals and evenings outdoors.
Guests also have exclusive use of Mon Jardin Secret (“My Secret Garden”), our large private enclosed recreational meadow beside the gîte. Here you'll find a 6-person hot tub, sun loungers, picnic areas, table tennis, swings, a trampoline a seasonal shallow splash pool, designed for cooling off and relaxing rather than swimming, all surrounded by open countryside views. There's plenty of space for children to play and for adults to find a quiet corner to relax.
Dogs are very welcome too. The private garden is securely enclosed, dogs can join you in Mon Jardin Secret on a lead, and a dog splash pool is available during the summer. We can also provide dog beds, food bowls and water bowls to save space in the car.
Our three friendly llamas live in the neighbouring paddock, alongside our ducks and rescue hens, adding a little extra character to the rural setting while guests retain their own private spaces.
We live opposite the gîte and personally welcome our guests, so help and local advice are close at hand when wanted, while your privacy is respected throughout your stay. A complimentary welcome selection is provided on arrival, and guests can also order groceries, local Normandy products, breakfasts, light meals, picnic hampers, cakes and bakes from our Gîte Pantry & Extras Shop.
The location makes Ursula Gîte an excellent base for exploring western Normandy. The sandy beaches of the Manche coast are around 15 minutes away (Sandy beaches at Hauteville-sur-Mer are around 12 minutes away by car), while Mont-Saint-Michel, the D-Day Landing Beaches, Granville, Bayeux, historic abbeys, traditional markets and picturesque Normandy villages are all within reach for day trips.
Or you can simply stay put, sink into the hot tub, watch the countryside and see what the llamas are doing. Normandy doesn't always need an itinerary.
Prices are based on up to 6 guests, with a supplement for guests 7–10. Dogs are welcome by prior agreement for €20 per dog per stay. Minimum stays vary by season.

Policies & house rules
Minimum stay is 2 nights, with longer minimum stays during peak periods.
Maximum occupancy is 10 registered guests. Only guests named on the booking may stay overnight. Day visitors require prior approval.
Rates include up to 6 guests. Guests 7–10 are charged €25 per person, per night.
A 10% deposit is payable when booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days before arrival.
Free cancellation is available 30 days or more before arrival. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable.
A €500 card pre-authorisation is taken 1 day before arrival and normally released within 7 days after departure, subject to a satisfactory property inspection. This is not a charge unless required for damage, excessive cleaning or rule breaches. Guest liability is not limited to €500.
A €50 end-of-stay cleaning fee applies. This covers standard changeover cleaning; additional charges may apply for excessive cleaning or damage.
Tourist tax is payable according to local regulations.
Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior agreement at €20 per dog, per stay. Additional dogs may be considered by prior agreement.
No parties or events without prior approval. Quiet hours begin at midnight and respectful noise levels are required at all times.
No smoking or vaping inside the gîte. No candles or open flames are permitted.
Children must be supervised at all times when using the hot tub, splash pool and outdoor facilities.
The private hot tub and splash pool are unsupervised and used at guests' own risk. No glassware is permitted around either.
Guests must not alter or tamper with the hot tub, splash-pool filtration, Wi-Fi equipment or other technical equipment.
EV charging from the property's electrical supply is not permitted.
Guests should leave the gîte reasonably tidy, dispose of rubbish correctly and return any moved furniture to its original position.
Water and electricity are included. A €30 per week heating supplement applies from November to February.
Bed linen and standard towels are included. Optional beach, hot-tub and splash-pool towels are available for €3 each.
Early check-in may be available free of charge, subject to availability, but is not possible on same-day changeover days. Luggage can be stored before check-in by arrangement.
Late check-out until 12:00 may be available for €25, subject to availability, but is not possible on same-day changeover days.
Lost keys, damage, excessive cleaning and other costs resulting from breaches of the rental conditions may be charged to the guest.
