Choosing a holiday home with a pool
Private, shared or heated?
A private pool is intended for the use of your accommodation; a shared pool may serve other rentals or the owner’s home. The arrangements matter as much as the photographs. Compare private-pool properties or heated-pool properties, and confirm who has access during your stay.
Check your dates and group’s needs
Opening dates vary. For spring or autumn, ask whether heating will be running, whether there is a charge and what happens during cooler weather. For children or non-swimmers, ask about depth, access steps, barriers and supervision arrangements. A pool facility label is not a safety assessment.
Choose the house as well as the pool
Check bedrooms, bathrooms, shade, outside dining and driving distances. Ask for the total quote for your dates, including any pool-heating charge. If several cottages share a pool, establish whether booking one cottage or the whole site changes the access arrangements.
