La Ferme de la Croix

Stay on Béatrice and Frédéric’s working dairy farm, just 500 metres from Saint-Avit-Sénieur in the Dordogne. La Ferme de la Croix occupies a restored 19th-century Périgord stone barn, with three individually bookable guest rooms, countryside views and breakfast included. The village and its abbey are within walking distance, with Bergerac, Sarlat and the bastide towns to explore further afield.

Three guest rooms

Coquelicot is a ground-floor double room with its own entrance, private terrace, a 160 × 200 cm bed, private bathroom and separate WC. Jasmin is also on the ground floor, with a private terrace, private bathroom and separate WC. It can be arranged with a 180 × 190 cm double bed or two 90 × 190 cm single beds.

The upstairs Mansardée room has exposed roof timbers, air conditioning, a 160 × 200 cm double bed and a 90 × 190 cm pull-out bed for one or two children. It accommodates two adults and up to two children and has a private bathroom/WC. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. A cot and high chair are available on request.

Breakfast, meals and time on the farm

Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:30 in the dining room, or on the terrace when the weather allows. It includes fresh bread and croissants, homemade jams, local honey and juice, and homemade yoghurt using milk from the farm. Evening platters with local produce can be booked at least 24 hours ahead. Guests also have access to a shared refrigerator, microwave and crockery.

Visit the dairy farm, enjoy fishing in the on-site pond or follow walking routes from the house. The jacuzzi is available for guests aged 16 and over, subject to availability and an additional charge; please reserve ahead in winter. There is parking on the property and covered storage for motorcycles and bicycles in the former tobacco barn.

Room prices and optional extras

Breakfast is included. In 2026, prices are €72 per night for one or two guests sharing a double bed, €77 for two guests in separate beds, €90 for three guests and €108 for four in the family room. From 1 January 2027, the nightly price is €74 for two guests or €92 for three, including breakfast. Please ask the hosts for the 2027 four-person or twin-bed price.

Meal platters are available by reservation at €19.50 per person. Optional extras include a jacuzzi session at €7 per person and pets by prior agreement at €5 per day. Tourist tax is additional where applicable; the published 2026 rate is €0.60 per person per night.

Walk into Saint-Avit-Sénieur for its abbey, restaurants and grocery shop. Nearby outings include Cadouin, Beaumont-du-Périgord, Monpazier and Molières, with canoeing on the Dordogne or Vézère, local markets, châteaux and prehistoric sites further afield.
