Bellac is situated just 35 minutes from Limoges airport with regular flights from the UK with Ryanair and Flybe. It's situated in an unspoilt area of natural beauty in the heart of France. The area is renowned for its many lakes, forests and quiet roads (ideal for cyclists) on which to explore the many villages. The Haute Vienne is famed for the beautiful Limousin cows which graze in the fields and is also a successful sheep breeding region with Bellac being the home of the National federation of sheep breeders. An area also rich in history from the 2nd World war where many locals joined the french resistance and played their part in the ending of the war. Oradour sur Glane is only 20km away and an interesting visit. If leisure pursuits are more to your taste, you won't be disappointed with the choice of facilities on offer. Perhaps gentle walks on green lanes are more favourable, what better than the marked walks right on your doorstep. Then of course some guests have hardly moved from the sun loungers in the pretty gite garden where they have been happy with a good book and just occasionally glancing up to admire the view of the church on the hill in the old part of the town
