We have just returned from a two week stay in Marseillan at Derek and Lisa’s lovely apartment and can only agree with all the other superb reviews. It is charming and perfect for two. The garden is beautiful with plenty of space and a good mix of sunny areas and shade. The pool is a good size and very welcoming on a hot afternoon. Derek and Lisa are very friendly and helpful without being in the least intrusive. The walk along the étang to the harbour side in Marseillan was a leisurely twenty minute stroll for us. There is a good selection of restaurants around the harbour - our favourite was Le Chateau du Port. The Tuesday morning market in Marseillan is worth a visit but there are plenty of other interesting places to visit in the area without having to drive far. The tour of Noilly Pratt with Lisa as guide was a particular highlight. We can thoroughly recommend a holiday here and hope to visit again ourselves before too long. Guest rating:read more

We have not long returned from a really lovely relaxing week in Derek and Lisa's apartment and would wholeheartedly agree with all the previous comments that have been made. The surrounding roads can be a bit of a rabbit warren to begin with but we did manage to get to the local boulangerie which is only a short distance away and worth the walk. We also took advantage of one of Lisa's tours of Noilly Prat which was really interesting and included lovely cocktails, and enjoyed a boat trip round the lagoon to see the oyster and mussel beds. We would highly recommend 'La Pacheline' restaurant in the port. Derek and Lisa were charming and congenial hosts and their knowledge of the area, readily shared, ensured we could get the best out of our holiday, including buying some excellent Picpoul wine from the producer. We can only endorse all previous favourable reviews after spending a warm and sunny week in this delightful apartment. All the conveniences and equipment you would want and of such high quality. The private pool was a particular delight for a relaxing afternoon and swim following morning excursions and preparing for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants around the picturesque port of Marseillan. We stayed in this lovely apartment in July 2023 for two weeks, the apartment is very well equipped and very private with a large terrace for dining.The pool is very welcoming in the afternoon heat and the gardens are beautiful! The location from the apartment into Marseillan port is excellent its only a short walk or cycle ride.Marseillan offers some delicious fish restaurants, and always seems to have something going on from local evening markets, to live music. A visit to Noilly Pratt is definitely worth while with wonderful cocktails! Derek and Lisa are very welcoming, and informative, and available if required. The Apartment is even better than the description, and we have spent several happy holidays there. It is really comfortable, and the large private pool a fantastic luxury. Derek and Lisa are both very helpful, and Marseillan close by with all the restaurants and culture you might want. Something for everyone, and we hope to return next year.

Derek and Lisa were so welcoming and helpful. The apartment was everything we needed for a perfect relaxing holiday.
The location is lovely and quiet and we enjoyed the 20 minute walk along the Étang de Thau to the harbour, which had plenty of choice of places to eat.
All in all we had an amazing time and we certainly plan to return.
Just perfect was our review title and just perfect is what my wife and myself found with our stay at Derek and Lise's cottage apartment. A truly lovely and welcoming couple. the apartment was exactly what we wished for. It was comfortable, very clean and very well situated just outside of the main town of Marseillan with its beautiful restaurants and picturesque harbour and of course Noilly Prat. The surrounding areas are just beautiful and easy to get to. For us it was the ideal get away to relax. We definitely will be back. Thank you both Derek and Lise, lots of love Steve & Julie Toft
We recently returned from a fantastic week in this property. Derek and Lise were the perfect hosts, around just enough to advise when required; we were given a very warm welcome and a brief tour of the property along with initial guidance of the local facilities. There were local maps and leaflets available in the gîte.
The gîte was exactly what you were looking for, with a lovely clean pool, pleasant and shady terrace area and has probably the best equipped kitchen we've known. The location is lovely and quiet, making it very relaxing sitting by the pool or on the terrace, surrounded by the attractive plants in the borders.
Lisa provided an excellent tour at Noilly Prat, which we enjoyed along with tastings at various stages of the process followed by cocktails. We were also told of the best domaines for sampling and buying local wines, as well as recommendations of where to eat.
Marseillan Plage, just a couple of kilometres away, has a lovely gently sloping and sandy beach, with plenty of space and shallow calm seas, great for swimming. The boulangerie just round the corner and on the way to the beach does great pastries, ideal after a swim.
We didn’t want to leave and would love to go back before too long, although it will probably have to be next year.
We had an amazing week in Marseillan exceeding all our expectations. We wanted to stay somewhere with a pool, dog friendly and with a beach nearby and this delivered over and above.
Lise and Derek gave us a very warm welcome and provided everything we could possibly need for our stay. It was lovely to sit under the shady tree on the terrace having long lunches and enjoying the beautiful weather, cooling off in the pool.
The location of the apartment is only 20 minutes walk from the pretty town with lovely waterside restaurants and a few bars. Within 15 minutes drive you can be on the vast beach which even in August, had some quiet spots.
Thank you Derek and Lise, we hope to be back soon!
We enjoyed our week holiday at the apartment. The property was clean and comfortable and we were well looked after by owners Derek & Lise.
The location is perfect and easy to walk to all the local shops and restaurants, we hired bikes for a couple of days which was a great way to explore further along the coastline. A lovely place to stay.
