Villa Les Deux Cypres

Just 40 km west of the Mediterranean coast, and 40 km east of the iconic citadel of Carcassonne, Villa Les Deux Cypres welcomes you to a private heated pool and sun-soaked terrace, where tall cypress trees frame the rugged Corbières countryside.

Its elevated position offers far reaching panoramic views and tranquility above the village centre.

Yet the village is just a 10-minute walk away, with its charming 18th-century church and bell tower, and a bridge over the Nielle River. It has several restaurants, a traditional boulangerie, patisserie, and all the essentials including a grocery store, petrol station, bank and pharmacy. So convenient, while your stay at the villa is private, with no close neighbours overlooking the property.

With air conditioning throughout, high-quality furnishings, and fast, reliable internet, the villa offers a refined and comfortable stay for up to 10 guests.

Although there are ground-floor bedrooms, the villa is accessed via an outdoor staircase, so may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

You enter the villa from its balustraded terrace into a welcoming hallway. To the right is the spacious open-plan living area.

This bright space combines a large indoor dining area with a comfortable lounge, furnished with multiple sofas perfect for large groups. Both areas open directly onto the pool terrace through double doors, creating an easy indoor-outdoor flow.

There is a comfortable workspace in the living area, with a desk and chair. There is a flat-screen TV an Amazon streaming stick, a DVD player, and a selection of DVDs and books.

The open-plan kitchen is very well-equipped, including a large fridge-freezer with ice maker, a second refrigerator, an extra large oven and electric hob, dishwasher, microwave, and a great range of crockery and small appliances including a Bosch capsule coffee maker. The island has seating for two, and a large workspace.

All windows and doors throughout the villa are fitted with wooden shutters, allowing you to easily block out the sun during the hottest days.

Villa Les Deux Cypres has 5 bedrooms in total, 3 doubles and 2 twins.

The master bedroom features a super king-size bed (180 x 200cm) and an en-suite bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a bathtub. It also has a flat screen TV with Amazon streaming stick. This room opens onto a private patio with far-reaching views. Off this bedroom is a small adjoining room with bunk beds and a children’s play area. The beds measure 90x200cm and are also suitable for adults.

Back downstairs, there are two more doubles, both with doors that lead to the front balustraded terrace. One of these also has an en-suite bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a bathtub. The fifth bedroom is a twin, and the family shower room is adjacent, which has a bathtub with shower overhead. There is also an additional WC is on the ground floor.

A cot and high chair are available at the property.

In addition to bed linen and house towels, pool towels are included, leaving you more space in your suitcases! Hairdryers are also supplied, and a complimentary linen change for stays of two weeks or more.

OUTDOORS : 

From the pool patio, guests can enjoy far-reaching views of the countryside, dotted with cypress trees.

The heated swimming pool measures 8x4m, and is surrounded by high quality outdoor furniture. There are at least 6 sun loungers, and also a set of comfortable sofas and outdoor chairs, parasols, as well as pool toys.

The outdoor dining table seats 8 to 10 guests, and there is a brand new large gas barbecue for al fresco dining.

The pool has both a hard cover as well as an alarm for security if guests wish to use it. The hard cover can also protect the warm water temperature. The pool has convenient steps along the entire length, and is treated with a saltwater system.

At the other end of the terrace, there is a café table overlooking the beautiful views from the balustraded section, accessible from the two ground floor double bedrooms.

Guests can enjoy the use of 4 bicycles – 2 adult and 2 child bicycles.

Behind and alongside the house is a small gravelled area, and the property is fully fenced. Beyond the fence, there are views of greenery, woodland, and surrounding countryside, with no close neighbours.

There is ample parking for several vehicles, either within the private gated driveway or just outside the gate in the large turning area which is at the end of the cul-de-sac.

AROUND THE AREA :

Located in the heart of the Corbières wine region, Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse is a peaceful village surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and fragrant garrigue. It offers a true taste of rural southern France, and is within easy reach of the Mediterranean coast and the historic UNESCO site of Carcassonne.

The villa is located just a 10-minute walk away from all village amenities of Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse, including a boulangerie, several restaurants, grocery shops, a bank, pharmacy and more. There are also petrol stations at the entrance and exit to the village, and many hypermarkets for larger shops nearby.

Nearby lakes include Lac de Jouarres just 30-minutes drive to the north, which has a sandy beach, life-guarded swimming in July & August, water sports, and fishing. Within 15–30 minutes, you’ll find beautiful river swimming spots with natural pools, small waterfalls and rock basins, particularly along the Orbieu Valley near Ribaute and Lagrasse.
