Gîte Val de Vie – spacious Vendée retreat with pool and spa

Gîte Val de Vie brings family and friends together beside Lac d’Apremont, in the Vendée village of Maché. Élodie and Nicolas renovated this former barn in 2022, creating 260 m² of accommodation with generous shared spaces and a private, tree-filled garden of around 4,200 m².

Space to spend time together

The large living and dining area gives the group room to gather, while the fitted kitchen offers plenty of storage for a self-catering stay. A separate games room has table football, board games, books and a games console. WiFi is included, and there is a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Six sleeping areas and four bathrooms

The gîte sleeps up to 20 guests: 15 guests plus five additional beds. The accommodation includes five bedrooms and an enclosed mezzanine sleeping area. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor; two further bedrooms and the enclosed mezzanine are upstairs. The website shows a combination of 160 × 200 cm double beds and 90 × 190 cm single beds, with flexible arrangements in several rooms. Bed linen, duvets and two bath towels per person are provided. A cot and highchair are available.

Pool, hot tub and garden

The covered outdoor swimming pool opens from 1 May to 30 September. Its enclosure can be opened in sunny weather. The sheltered outdoor hot tub seats eight and is available throughout the year, from 7am to 10.30pm.

A terrace of around 100 m² has outdoor furniture and a large plancha for cooking together. The garden offers space for outdoor games, with two pétanque courts, a swing, badminton and table tennis. Private parking is available.

A stay in the Vendée

The lakeside setting is a peaceful base for time together and exploring the surrounding Vendée.

The gîte welcomes stays throughout the year, including weekends and breaks from two nights, subject to the season and availability. Pets are not accepted, and the property is not wheelchair accessible.
