The owners of Chez Dizjon invite you to enjoy their beautiful home. The house is situated in the picturesque chateau town of Josselin, a French “petite cite de caractere”. An ideal base for walking, cycling or kayaking, the house is a few minutes stroll from the town centre. Bicycles and kayaks can be hired just 500 meters from the house. Josselin has a lively mix of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The magnificent chateau, still inhabited by the Rohan family, has guided tours in both French and English.
The accommodation, sleeping 6, (in three bedrooms) is on three levels. Chez Dizjon has been recently refurbished to provide a comfortable home with all facilities for a self-catering holiday. The pretty terrace looks directly towards the Nantes-Brest canal where you can while a way some lazy time watching the boats, cyclists and walkers pass.
ACCOMMODATION IN MORE DETAIL
The front door leads directly to the entrance hall. Just off the hall on the left is a WC. On the right is the kitchen/diner with seating for 6 guests. The kitchen is fitted with wooden units and also has a dishwasher,fridge/freezer and microwave. A washing machine is also provided for guest use. From the ground floor hallway there are two steps into the living room. This bright and airy room has a superb view of the canal. Comfortable seating is provided. Also a TV with a Freesat box. English channels only. A DVD player is provided. Please note the woodburner is not for use but just a feature. Eectric radiators are provided for cooler months. months.

The elegant wooden staircase leads to the first and second floor.
Bedroom 1 (views to the canal) has a Double bed.
Bedroom 2 also has two single beds.
The family bathroom is on this level and has a shower, washbasin and WC. The floor is tiled with beautiful Portuguese tiles.
Bedroom 3, (Master Bedroom) is elegantly presented with a clawed foot bathtub and a separate ensuite shower room and WC.
A cot can be provided.
The outdoor, with a parasol, and chairs is perfect for “al fresco” dining.
Linen and towels are provided.
THE BRITTANY REGION
Chez Dizjon is in the Department of Morbihan in the beautiful region of Brittany in northern France.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
LOCAL AREA
A 20 minute drive from the accommodation takes you to the Domaine de Kerguéhennec. Here you will find an unusual sculpture park and chateau in magnificent grounds. There is a large lake and lots of woodland. There is a small café in the park and in the chateau there are often art exhibitions.
The walled city of Vannes is about a 50 minute drive from Josselin. The harbourside restaurants in Vannes are always busy in the summer months. The local seafood, oysters and mussels being particularly popular.
There are many pretty Breton towns all with their own charms.
Nearby is the charming town of La Gacilly. During the summer months an outdoor photographic exhibition is held. Boat trips on the canal are available. The Yves Rocher factory, shop and Spa are situated here.
Rochefort-en-Terre, about 45 minutes away, was voted “prettiest village in France” in 2015. With its cobbled streets, plentiful restaurants and shops, it is a must on your holiday agenda!
'Musée de la Résistance de Bretagne'
The fascinating 'Musée de la Resistance is at St Marcel. It chronicles the vital role played by the people of Brittany at the time of the German Occupation during the second World War.
Close to St Marcel is the delightful market and canalside town of Malestroit.
The zoo at Pont Scorff is ideal for younger members of the family (about 1 hour away)
The Prehistoric Park at Malansac, about 45 minutes away, is another great day out for the youngsters. There are 30 scenes of reconstruction of the dinosaur age. The park is based on models and information from the Natural History Museum in Paris.
Nearby (1 hour drive) is the stunning medieval city of Rennes, capital of Brittany. There are numerous outdoor cafés and restaurants in the picturesque square plus shops so perfect if you want some retail therapy!
