Our property sits in 5 acres of countryside making it secluded Enjoy a game of table tennis, badminton, boules, or ball games in a safe area. just a 2 minute drive takes you to the market town of rochechouart where you will find all the amenities you may need.
Rochechouart hosts it own chateau with art gallery, meteorite museum which describes events some 200 million years ago.
The Limousin or French Lake District is a beautiful area of France full of winding lanes, lakes and lush green landscapes. Situated within a micro climate creating some lovely weather. a number of rivers and lakes provide a whole range of activities water sports including sailing, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing. The region is ideal for golfing walkers and anglers. Limoges is the department capital and has long been famous for it`s fine bone china production. Visit the local churches, chateau, museums and numerous local markets selling local produce such as cheese, pate, oils and honey to name but a few. A 10 minute drive will take you to the larger town of Saint Junien offering more amenities, restaurants/cafes etc. In the area there are plenty of places to visit, the site corot St Junien walking beside the glane full of flora and fauna, Roman Baths at chassenon, aixe sur vienne known for its pottery, the martyred village of oradour sur glane. the grotto at st auvent "the little lourdes of limousin". Occasional summer farmers markets where you can buy local food which they will gladly BBQ for you and enjoy the lovely ambiance with the local community
( at an extra cost there is a family suite available on request, comprising of a twin room leading into a double room, a shower room with wash basin and wc)

During the months October/May the pool will not be in use.
Pool towels and charcoal are not supplied.
Please leave the gite as you find it cleaning the bathrooms & kitchen worktops, hoovered throughout.
We recycle so there are containers for you to put your rubbish & bottles out.
Let us know as soon as possible of any breakages, damage or breakdowns that may occur and we will arrange to have them rectified or replaced.
It is strongly recommended that you arrange comprehensive insurance providing cover for your belongings and should you cancel your booking as all monies are non refundable.
French insurance works differently to UK. You are responsible for any damage to the property as we cannot claim under our insurance for damage caused by our guests. It is therefore essential that you take personal insurance that covers you for accidental damage, personal accident and personal liability. We reserve the right to request a copy of your personal liability insurance.
For their safety children under 12 must be accompanied within the pool area and we ask that you use plastic tumblers around the pool as glass can be harmful to feet and the pool. The use of this and all facilities at Le Grand Meillat is taken at your own risk.
The owners can not be held responsible for personal injuries, loses, robbery or damage to property of the guests unless this is a result of shortcomings for which we the owners are responsible.
It would be appreciated if people did not smoke in the house and kept smoking in general to the outside.
Booking are from day of arrival,16.00pm to 10.00am on day of departure.
A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF 25% IS REQUIRED WITH YOUR BOOKING WITH FINAL PAYMENT TO BE MADE 12 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL.
