Le Pin; is in the Department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the beautiful region of Brittany in northern France and it is just on the boarders between Brittany and Normandy.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports (Dinard, Rennes, Brest, Nantes).
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Mont Saint-Michel which is a World Heritage Site is only 16km’s away.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.

We have had several holidays at Le Pin and look forward to returning there soon. It’s in a ideal location within easy reach of Mont St Michel, Cancale, St Malo, Dinard and the fabulous beaches of the Emerald Coast. We love the large rear garden where we have enjoyed many sunny evenings of French inspired cuisine and wine.
We love the original features of the farmhouse with open fireplace in the kitchen and also the woodburning stove in the cosy lounge. The antique furniture in the kitchen with its 19th century dresser and large farmhouse table adds to its charm. It also boasts all modern conveniences including dishwasher, washing machine gas cooker and wifi which makes for a perfect relaxed family holiday!
We’ve stayed at Le Pin several times now in winter and in spring. Warmer weather means you can sit outside in the sun having long boozy lunches whilst passing ramblers and cyclists call “Bon apetit” to you, whilst winter justifies evenings with roaring fires in the kitchen hearth and the wood burner in the lounge. Loads of DVDs to watch on the telly, and the wifi means you can access Netflix/Amazon etc.
Really comfortable rural home to use as a base to explore the surrounding area. Mont Saint Michel is always worth a visit, but get there early to beat the crowds. Dinan’s lovely too, and Cancale is a must if you like seafood…loads of places to eat there, from shucked oysters and a glass of Chablis on the quayside from the market, to a proper sit-down feast at any of the restaurants and bars. Chez Victor and Mere Champlain are favourites.
Great supermarket a short car ride away on the other side of Pleine Fougeres (an Intermarche), with another (Carrefour) a little further away in Pontorson. Watch out – they close early on Fridays and Sundays.
It’s an easy drive to/from Caen or Cherbourg. We like to take the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo (there’s a good restaurant on board) for the outward bound trip and return home via either Caen or Cherbourg. Get the ferry timings right and there’s plenty of time for a good lunch and a wander before the crossing home.
So happy you had an amazing time in Me Pin.
Have stayed at Le Pin on a few occasions now. Love the place; great setting in a very rural and peaceful area. Good supermarket a short car journey away on the other side of Pleine Fougeres with good places to eat not far away in Pontorson.
Really convenient for sightseeing trips to St Malo (I recommend the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo by the way), Dinan and lots of places already mentioned in the blurb. Always enjoy a trip (or 2) over to Cancale for a wander and a seafood lunch. Mont Saint Michel shouldn't be missed either, but get there early to beat the crowds!
We've stayed in winter and in late Spring. Warmer weather means sitting outside in the sun having long lunches and ramblers/cyclists calling "Bon apetit" and winter evenings justify roaring fires in the kitchen hearth and the wood burner in the lounge. And the wifi means you can still listen to Radio 4 in the morning!
In short; a great place to stay!
So pleased that you had a wonderful stay in Le Pin.
