We stayed here as a family of 5 with young children. The accommodation was outstanding, spacious, tasteful and very clean. The children loved the games room and swings, Lovely rural setting , walking distance to village and bar . Short drive to supermarkets. The owners were very welcoming . Broadband reception was fine and I was able to use Internet/email etc easily from gite. We all hope to return next summer , thankyou .

We spent a week here in August, this included my husband and I and 7, 10 and14 year old kids. We loved how clean and well equipped the property was. The kids loved the trampoline and pool table on-site. They also loved the chickens!! It was a great base and we visited the beach, la Coupole, Denlys Park, St Omer. The owners were on-site, but didn't intrude and were always available when needed.

A very comfortable, clean, well equipped house, less than an hour away from Calais. Plenty of space outside for the children to play. They particularly enjoyed the slide, trampoline and the games room. St Omer is 30 mins away and we had a lovely day in the public gardens, followed by lunch in the town. Overall, a lovely short break and we will be back.

Just returned from a lovely week at this fab gite. The owners are so accommodating and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The gite was perfect for us, a family of 5. Had list of space, was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The kitchen was so well equipped and the freeview was a bonus for the kids. The children loved the farm animals, the playroom and especially the chickens which made their stay. Ann was so wonderful allowing them to collect the eggs. The area was great, close to beaches and so close to calais. Overall a fantastic break in wonderful surroundings. We will definitely be back

Great location, good facilities, wonderful time had by the whole family. We had some great weather but a couple of damp days. The play room for the kids worth its weight in gold.

Just returned home from one of the most relaxing holidays I've had in a long time. Spotless on arrival and welcomed with some fresh eggs from the farm hens, the Gite provided the perfect break from city life for my wife and I. The local town and supermarket are a 5 minute drive away but the rural setting and the peace & quiet made it the perfect setting for us. We will definitely come back at some point.

My husband and I tend to avoid staying at the same place two years in a row however this time the choice to come back to Le Grand Marais couldn't have been more rewarding. Ann and Graham, the owners, have clearly invested a lot of love and care in updating the Gites and maintaining the outside area. We stayed in Emerald again which was spotlessly clean with all mod cons and even had a brand new shower installed . Our three year old absolutely loved playing outside on the large grassy area with the trampoline and the mini soccer goal. For those evenings when the weather wasn't that kind we had the well equipped games room to keep him occupied. As this was our second stay we were slightly more adventurous in exploring the surrounding area but we really didn't have to go very far. Whilst you have a small brasserie a short walk away in Fauquembourgs, if you go 5 minutes down the road to Thiembronne there are a couple of fantastic restaurants, classic French bakery and two supermarkets and lots more. We would highly recommend a stay at the Le Grand Marais to anyone who was planning to holiday in the area, we'll definitely be back.

Travelled from London with my husband and young son (2 years old) for a short break. We took the eurotunnel and drove the rest. Firstly the journey was handy and the directions to the gite very good. The welcome was very nice from Graham and Ann and they told us all we need to know about the local area. The gite is very nice, clean and well laid out - everything you need is there. As others have said there are supermarkets etc close. We drove to Le Touquet and also St Omer, Both great places and worth a visit. All in all a fantastix break, our son loved the animals - i reckon we'll be back.
