We spent a wonderful fortnight here. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, the Victoria Sponge cake, baked by Tracey was delicious. The cottage is set within a stunning landscape in the countryside and is spacious and delightful, with everything you will need for a relaxing break. The grounds are immaculate and well tended by Paul. I never grew tired of the views. We are a family group, age range from 27-60 something and there really was something for everyone. Many an hour was passed in the pool, fishing the lake, with the largest catch being 26.6lb, playing pétanque, volleyball, football and of course in the games room. We wanted a quiet, relaxing break and that is exactly what we got. Thanks to Tracey and Paul, who really do go the extra mile and made this a perfect holiday
We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight at Les Carrieres.
The gite is fantastic and is set in beautiful grounds, and has a lovely private pool with amazing views. There is also a great games room with pool, table football and darts and outside a boules court which we used many times. The weather was glorious and we spent every evening outside, cooking with the bbq
and the pizza oven. We also fished the lake at the end of the garden, catching Rudd, roach, tench and carp. My best was a 16lb common carp but the main thing was the peacefulness just sitting by the water.
Finally I must thank our hosts, Paul and Tracey. They are a lovely couple who can’t do enough for you,
We have good memories of our time at Les Carrieres
Returning to Les Carrieres in June, we had warmer weather and were able to make full use of the lovely swimming pool. The gite was as spacious and comfortable as we remembered it and it was great to make use of the outside space and watch the abundant bird and insect life. The grounds are beautifully maintained with sweeping lawns leading down to a lovely lake. A chorus of frogs accompanied Gerard as he fished for carp, tench and roach.
We enjoyed lovely way marked walks from the door and from nearby villages. The surrounding countryside is beautiful.
Paul and Tracey are perfect hosts and we hope to see them again next year.
Where to start? We have stayed in some nice places in France and this one is up there with the best. When we arrived i couldnt believe how big the Gite was and the size of the grounds it was set in. It is such a relaxing place to unwind and Tracey and Paul are amazing hosts with nothing being too much trouble to make you feel at home even finding a tube of super glue to repair my sunglasses!! The lake is beautiful surrounded by trees with excellent fishing plus a pool, a lovely outdoor seating area and fantastic games room. We were very lucky with the weather and we went to St Estaph lake and beach plus a walk round Piegut market. There is something for everyone here and there is so much to do you will never get bored. Thank you once again for being such brilliant hosts we will definitely be back if you will have us!!
Our family of 4 had a wonderful week at Les Carrieres. Barn Cottage surpassed our expectations from the photos. It's bigger and of such high quality. The facilities (pool, games room) are fab. The location is great - the plot itself is beautiful and so much to explore in the area. There's always anxiety renting somewhere with the owners living at the same site. At Les Carrieres this turned out to be an unnecessary anxiety. Paul and Tracey were delightful hosts, perfectly navigating the line between super helpful and giving complete privacy to enjoy our holiday. They pointed us to some great places to spend time, helped our kids experience fishing and enjoy the wildlife. Our holiday was delayed a year due to Covid. The owners were flexible, understanding and with great communication. It was entirely worth the wait! Highly recommended.
We were blessed with Autumn sunshine on arrival at Les Carrieres and Tracy waiting to welcome us at the gate. The gite was all we had hoped for, clean, spacious, light and very well equipped. Tracy and Paul were excellent hosts helping us to settle in quickly and always willing and able to answer our questions and offer advice on places to visit. And what places!
The area is beautiful, one of the loveliest parts of France that we have visited. Historic towns, villages and château, glorious Romanesque churches and lush hilly, wooded countryside. So much to see so another visit is essential.
The grounds of the gite are Iovely too. A delightful pool and superb fishing lake proved a lovely way to relax. Paul’s advice on fishing the lake was much appreciated. Gerard caught carp to 25lbs, tench, roach and rudd but the somersaulting sturgeon proved elusive. Next time maybe! We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return.
Beautiful place to stay, spacious bite, with modern kitchen and bathroom but still has the French feel, everything we wanted for a perfect family holiday. Kids had great fun in the swimming pool, the well stocked lake was enjoyed by us all, beautiful views all around the property. Paul & Tracey are great hosts, lots of knowledge of the surrounding areas and there if you needed anything. Can’t wait to get back there!
Had a wonderful two week stay in this wonderful gite set in beautiful Aquitaine countryside. We had a heat wave while we were there so the lovely pool was perfect! Paul and Tracey were great hosts who gave some wonderful suggestions for places to eat and to visit, despite being there two weeks there were still lots more we didnt get chance to explore. A wonderful fishing lake is perfect for relaxing and catching a few fish, Paul knows his fish and will advise on best tactics, the tackle provided saves bringing your own. We had a wonderful stay with our freinds and thoroughly recommend.
Les Carrieres is a lovely place to spend your holidays. Sadly we could only stay for a week. The property is huge and comfortably accomodated six people. The pool was very welcome in the heatwave and the kids loved it. The games room is brilliant and well equipped. We really loved the lake and, although it was too hot for fishing, enjoyed the tranquility (and the frogs). Tracy and Paul are fabulous hosts and easy to deal with. They are totally focussed on the comfort of their guests and could not do enough for us. Would thoroughly recommend Les Carrieres to any looking for unspoilt France and an exceptional family holiday.
Just returned from 2 weeks at this perfect location, the accommodation is first class as are the host Tracy and Paul. Nothing is too much trouble and always on hand to help and advice when needed but never intrusive. The fishing was hard but very relaxing to sit under the shade of the trees listening to the wildlife and a bonus with all the tackle provided free. A dip in the pool is very welcoming followed by a BBQ - what's not to like. A car is a must to explore the local area with many places to visit. There are many bars and restaurants to stop at, enjoy the food and obviously a glass or 2. You will not be disappointed.
