Description

La Petite Grange is set in its own grounds overlooking a lovely valley. It has recently been lovingly renovated to a high standard and provides a comfortable and relaxing environment to enjoy the surrounding countryside and an ideal base from where to explore all the attractions the region has to offer.

It is ideally located in-between Le Mans and Tours and a few minutes away from the lovely villages of Lhomme - the capital of Jasnières, the local white wine, and La Chartre-sur-le-Loir - famous for its connections to the 24 hour Le Mans race.

The pretty cottage has a relaxing patio area overlooking the enclosed garden and field and valley behind.
Enjoy the spacious patio whilst having breakfast or an aperitif or why not do some stargazing (great night-time views with no light pollution). It's the ideal area in which to unwind whilst enjoying a barbecue and a glass of the local wine.

On arrival guests will find 'storecupboard' essentials such as fresh eggs, milk, jam, tea, coffee and sugar, salt and pepper. To celebrate your arrival we will also have a bottle of wine chilling for you in the fridge! Also, toilet roll, soap, washing up liquid, soap powder etc - everything you need to get your holiday started. All linens are provided.

Free WIFI- French TV. Extensive library of DVD's. Books, games and puzzles.

The owners, Jim (English) and Ophélie (French), live next door and are readily available to provide any assistance, advice or help if you require it.

Superb Gite That Won’t Disappoint
5/5 Stayed Jul 2019

We had a fantastic stay at what is a superb gite that won’t disappoint in any way. We were given a very warm welcome from James, Ophelie and their family and have to say what lovely people they are. The gite is just as pictured, if not better and has so much character. We were a family of four and had ample space, it was spotlessly clean everywhere, had every utensil / item that you could ever need. Fresh eggs, homemade jam, milk, orange juice all provided by James and Ophelie were there for us upon arrival - a lovely touch, thank you.

Located in a lovely small hamlet that is so peaceful during the day and night but only a sort drive from Le Mans, Tours, supermarkets, chateaus and vine yards. The garden is a really good size, very private and had the best of both worlds for sun or shade lovers.

A massive thank you to James and Ophelie, we left so relaxed and hope to return again to visit friends!

Just perfect......

We stayed in this gite for one week in July. Its location is rural, private and very peaceful. We found the property to be exceptionally well equipped, very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. It has a delightful area outside with table, chairs and loungers and a tree providing welcome cool and shade. The table tennis table was a great extra and if you have youngsters then you will find lots of toys both outdoor and indoor to keep them amused. There was an attention to detail with this gite which made us feel very welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just back from two wonderful weeks in this lovely gite, beautiful surroundings and positioning for visiting towns and cities was brilliant. The gite was spotless and everything was there that you could need.James and Ophelia were so helpful recommending places to go and one night phoning a bar to see if the fooball was on there for us.The garden was lovely, enclosed if you had small children and a bonus the hens would visit several times a day.I would highly recomend this property.

La Petite Grange is a very clean and well equipped gite set in beautiful countryside. Owners Ophélie and Jim made us feel very welcome. Fresh eggs and homemade jam accomplished with a very welcoming Epine which was very nice. I have and would recommend a visit and you will not be disappointed.

What a stunning gite! Beautifully restored and refurbished by the owners, Jim & Orphelie. Tastefully furnished, comfortable and spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need, a real home from home. We had a very laid back week at La Petite Grange after attending MotoGP at Le Mans. It is situated in lovely French countryside with lots to do and see in the surrounding areas and local supermarkets, restaurants and bakeries within a couple of minutes driving distance. Jim & Orphelie were very welcoming providing fresh eggs from their lovely brood, homemade jam and wonderful Epine!! Overall, a highly recommended lovely holiday home.

Excellent stay in well kept secret part of France • Date of Stay: Mar 2016 • Source: Owners Direct, from HomeAway

We really enjoyed our stay, and found the 'Loir' a very agreeable 'secret' part of France. The cottage is delightful - and very welcoming to find the wood burner lit, eggs in the kitchen and a bottle of 'Epine' in the fridge. Our two young children enjoyed the garden and the company of the hens and 'Buddy' the (very gentle) dog. We found the local information (on the troglodyte town of Troo, on local walks + shops, the local 'Jasnieres' wine etc) very helpful and had a fine time. Croissants for breakfast within 3 minutes' drive and very good old-fashioned French restaurant (the 'Hotel de France in Le Chartre sur Loir, with interesting Aston Martin connections, within 10, even if your car is a little more humble. Jim and Ophelie were on hand when we had the odd question and otherwise left us to it.

Directions

Directions to La Petite Grange
Coming south from Le Mans on the D304, you will pass through the towns of Parigné L’Evêque, Le Grand Lucé, St Vincent du Lorouër, Saint Pierre du Lorouër and finally the hamlet of Brives.
We are a further 3km from Brives. You should spot on your right a barn with an old, well faded advert for ‘Dubonnet’ on a blue background. Once spotted take the first road on the left. Unfortunately the sign post indicating La Grange is facing the other way!
Drive up the lane until it forks, bear right, following La Petite Grange signpost. A further 100 metres and you’ll see the gîte. You can park your car in front of the wooden gate.
Please note, when coming south from Le Mans, we are situated before the village of Lhomme. So if you do reach the village you have gone too far by about 3km.
Give us a call on 06.27.63.90.56 or 06.95.16.11.76 to let us know you are there as we might not heard you arrived.
Coming north on D304 from La Chartre-sur-le-Loir
Follow the directions towards Le Mans on the D304. Pass through the village of Lhomme without turning into the village centre (which is on the left) but continue straight on the D304.
Once you’ve passed through Lhomme, carry on for approx 2.5km then turn right onto the lane indicating La Richardière/La Viderie/La Grange. Just before this turn there is a very big barn on the left.
Drive up the lane until it forks, bear right, following La Petite Grange signpost. A further 100 metres and you’ll see the gite. You can park your car in front of the wooden gate.
Give us a call on 06.27.63.90.56 or 06.95.16.11.76 to let us know you are there as we might not heard you arrived.
