Entering the hallway, with a cupboard for outdoor wear, the light and airy lounge on the right hand side has comfortable seating for six guests. It benefits from a log burner for the cooler winter months.
TV is provided with French and UK channels.
The kitchen/diner is beautifully fitted and well equipped. It has an electric hob and separate electric oven. There is a dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There are two electric coffee machines.
Also a built in unit with shelves. There is plenty of crockery and glasses and all kitchen utensils and cutlery.
The dining table comfortably seats six guests.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a utiity area with a further fridge/freezer. There is also a bathroom comprising a bath and overhead shower and separate WC.
The washing machine is located in the adjacent garage.
The first floor is accessed by a wooden staircase leading to the landing area.

Bedroom 2: Single bed with “pullout” single bed at the base so can be configured as 2 singles.

The large, secured garden is laid to lawn with many pretty shrubs and borders. There is a further seating area for “al fresco” dining. Two outdoor tables are provided plus sun loungers. An interesting feature is an old bread oven which now doubles as a BBQ!

Maison Cupidon is a holiday home in the picturesque chateau town of Josselin, a French “petite cite de caractère”. An ideal base for walking, cycling or kayaking, the house is a few minutes stroll from the town centre. Bicycles and kayaks can be hired just 10 minutes walk from the house. Josselin has a lively mix of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The magnificent chateau, still inhabited by the Rohan family, has guided tours in both French and English.
Every Saturday is market day in Josselin. Local fresh produce including, cheese, vegetables, shellfish and cold meats are on sale.
THE BRITTANY REGION
Maison Cupidon is in the Department of Morbihan in the beautiful region of Brittany in northern France.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
A 20 minute drive from the accommodation takes you to the Domaine de Kerguéhennec. Here you will find an unusual sculpture park and chateau in magnificent grounds. There is a large lake and lots of woodland. There is a small café in the park and in the chateau there are often art exhibitions.
The walled city of Vannes is about a 50 minute drive from Josselin. The harbourside restaurants in Vannes are always busy in the summer months. The local seafood, oysters and mussels being particularly popular.
There are many pretty Breton towns all with their own charms.
Nearby is the charming town of La Gacilly. During the summer months an outdoor photographic exhibition is held. Boat trips on the canal are available. The Yves Rocher factory, shop and Spa are situated here.
Rochefort-en-Terre, about 45 minutes away, was voted “prettiest village in France” in 2015. With its cobbled streets, plentiful restaurants and shops, it is a must on your holiday agenda!
'Musée de la Résistance de Bretagne'
The fascinating 'Musée de la Resistance is at St Marcel. It chronicles the vital role played by the people of Brittany at the time of the German Occupation during the second World War.
Close to St Marcel is the delightful market and canalside town of Malestroit.
The zoo at Pont Scorff is ideal for younger members of the family (about 1 hour away)
The Prehistoric Park at Malansac, about 45 minutes away, is another great day out for the youngsters. There are 30 scenes of reconstruction of the dinosaur age. The park is based on models and information from the Natural History Museum in Paris.
Nearby (1 hour drive) is the stunning medieval city of Rennes, capital of Brittany. There are numerous outdoor cafés and restaurants in the picturesque square plus shops so perfect if you want some retail therapy!
