To read just some of the amazing comments we have received in our Visitors Book will give you an idea of how much our guests love L'Hirondelle and Les Figuiers: 'A great place to stay - the best we have found…' 'It felt like we’d wandered onto a film set…' 'A beautiful region and a magnificent view…' 'We rented both apartments for a week and totally enjoyed it…'

The accommodation on Rue de l'Horloge is 2 spacious apartments ('L'Hirondelle' and 'Les Figuiers') in a 3 storey stone village house in the heart of the charming medieval village of Vezenobres. Vezenobres is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The house occupies an elevated position in the village and an open south-facing aspect, offering unrivalled views of the surrounding area. A walk to the top of the village brings you to the Table D'Orientation, where on a clear day there are panoramic views stretching over 100km, with the Mediterranean to the south, the Cevennes to the west and Mont Ventoux in Provence to the east.

Within easy reach of the vast sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhone, the cultural sites of historic significance such as Avignon and the Pont du Gard, and the cosmopolitan towns of Montpellier, Nimes and Uzes, it is an ideal pied a terre for anyone wishing to absorb the richness of the region's activities and culinary delights or equally for those on househunting breaks.

L'Hirondelle is a spacious apartment located on the top floor of the house with stunning views of the surrounding area and the Cevennes from its shuttered windows, a private sun terrace with breakfast table and chairs, deckchairs and a BBQ leading off the double bedroom and direct access to the 3rd level shared terrace and splash pool from the kitchen.

Living room - this elegant and stylish room has comfortable seating around a large fireplace, with an open plan dining area and a stairway leading to the double bedroom.
Double bedroom - furnished with 160cm (Queen-size) bed has picutre windows with views and a doorway onto the private sun terrace where you can take a leisurely breakfast, or relax over pre-dinner aperitifs watching the sun slip behind the distant Cevennes.
Kitchen - has all the amenities for preparing your tasty Mediterranean meals with local market produce, which can be enjoyed outdoors on the rear terrace with splash pool.
Separate WC
Bathroom - large room with bath, walk-in shower and wash basin.

Outside there is a peaceful shared rear terrace with splash pool for relaxing and outdoor dining. Here there is a barbecue and garden furniture including table and chairs. (The splash pool is shared with 1 other apartment - Les Figuiers). There is also a private terrace with stunning views accessed from the bedroom, again equipped with table and chairs and furniture to enjoy your aperitifs.

Vezenobres itself has all the amenities including restaurants, boulangerie, tabac, supermarket, post office, pharmacy and beauty salon!

5 minutes drive north is the bustling town of Ales, and it is within easy reach of the vast sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhone, the cultural sites of historic significance such as Avignon and the Pont du Gard, and the cosmopolitan towns of Montpellier, Nimes and Uzes.

It is an ideal pied a terre for anyone wishing to absorb the richness of the region's activities and culinary delights or equally for those on househunting breaks.

Both the climate and the landscape lend themselves to an outdoor lifestyle in this part of the South France. With the sea, rivers, mountains and endless rolling countryside never more than a short drive away and consistent sunshine throughout the spring and summer months, it is like a playground for the outdoor enthusiast.

Historical Gard - wander in and wonder at the towns and cities of historical significance in the area such as Nimes, Uzès, Montpellier, Arles, and Avignon over the River Rhône in Provence or visit the delightful mediaeval towns of Vézénobres, Aigues Mortes, and St Guilhem-le-Desert (Hérault).

Le Pont du Gard is the most spectacular and best preserved part of a grandiose aqueduct built by the Romans to transport water from Uzès to Nimes. A whole day is required to visit Le Site Pont du Gard where both adults and children alike can take in the variety of activities.

The area has a fascinating mix of parks and tours with something of interest for all ages. Within a few square kilometers you can find anything from trips on a steam train to guided walks through bamboo forests, from descents into mines to tours of aquariums. The Gard is rich in popular rural traditions and the craftsmen today still strive to preserve and maintain their local 'savoir-faire'. Visit the centres of 'Vasses Boisset d'Anduze' and St Quentin la Poterie or delve deep into the soul of the Gard with trips to the 'Musée des Vallees Cevenoles' , the 'Musée des Beaux Arts' or the 'Musée du Desert'.

The location is arguably one of the most beautiful and interesting in France. The landscape is as varied as it is stunning - bordered by both the Mediterranean and the mountains - where hundreds of species of wildlife thrive in their natural habitat, and carpeted with acres of vineyards, sunflowers, lavender and natural scrubland.

Steeped in history, the region refuses to let go of it's traditions and with it's close proximity to Spain there is a strong Catalan influence, where bullfighting is not uncommon especially during 'La Féria'. Many villages keep the tradition of honouring the bull and running the white horses of the Camargue through their streets in the summer season and the sport of water-jousting which goes back to the Middle Ages can still be witnessed Le Grau du Roi.

A visit to the region would not be complete without visiting one of the many markets where pallets of local produce are displayed in glorious multicolour with aromas to entice! The variety of local produce is such that it cannot all be detailed, but a shortlist of Olives, Honey, 'Pelardon' (the traditional goat's cheese of the Cevennes), Chestnuts, Truffles, Asparagus, Figs, Camargue Rice and Shellfish and dishes such as 'Boeuf à la Gardianne' and 'Brandade du Morue' will suffice to whet the appetite although it only touches on the gastronomic delights of the region, whilst being a part of the largest wine producing region in France means that there is a wealth of expertise to be drawn on.

There are a number of 9 and 18 hols golf courses around Nimes, Uzès and Montpellier: Nimes (Campagne & Vacquerolles); Uzes; La Grande Motte; Fontcaude (massage, Montpellier); Cap d'Agde; Servants (Arles).
Ski in the Cevennes (Prat Peyrot - 90 mins); The french Alps (3 hours); The Pyrenees (4 hours).
