This modern house, is situated in a quiet residential area. The stunning Barrage d’Arzal, on the River Vilaine estuary, is within walking distance of the house and has several bars, shops and restaurants. The small town of Arzal is just a 5 minute drive away. The house sleeps four guests in two bedrooms.
The pretty market town of La Roche-Bernard, is 9kms away.
ACCOMMODATION IN MORE DETAIL:
The ground floor is an open plan area consisting of living room with comfortable chairs and sofa and a dining table for 4 people. Also a small kitchen area. There is Digital TV available (French channels only) as well as a DVD player and music system. WIFI is available throughout the property. There is a selection of board games, DVDs and CDs supplied for your use.
The kitchen area is equipped with everything you need for your stay including an electric hob, fridge with small freezer compartment , microwave/grill combination, washing machine, cafétière and toaster. There is a good selection of pots, pans, glasses, cutlery and kitchen utensils.
There is also a downstairs cloakroom, with a W.C and wash hand basin.
A clothes airer and hoover are also available in the property.
Access to the first floor is via the staircase (not carpeted) in the lounge please note the stair risers are open plan so care needs to be taken for those less mobile or very small children.
Both bedrooms are on the first floor. One double room and one room with bunk beds.
The main bathroom is also located on this floor and has a wash hand basin, bath and overhead shower.
All bed linen and towels are included in the price and extra pillows can be provided if needed.
A NO SMOKING policy is operated inside the house
This property is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

The house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac. There is a parking space at the front of the property along with visitor spaces located at the end of the row.
The small outdoor area at the rear of the property, is accessible via patio doors from the lounge. Here there is a “decking” area and outdoor chairs and table, complete with parasol are provided. The fencing is low level so dogs and children should be supervised at all times.
There is also a BBQ and sunloungers available for your use.

A few minutes walk from the house is the Barrage itself. Here there are several bars, and restaurants. Also a small supermarket and a depot de pain for your morning bread.
Also here is the nautical centre. The “Vedettes Jaunes” are magnificent cruisers offering different trips around the estuary and coast. Some of them also have restaurant facilities on board.
Arzal – This is the nearest village, just 5 minutes drive. It has a boulangerie and a bar.
Muzillac – is about 12 minutes away, with a supermarket, Pharmacy and various restaurants
La Roche-Bernard – This is a larger town, again with Supemarkets and restaurants. There is also a picturesque port and places to hire a paddle boat or kayak. Approx. 12 minutes away
Vannes –The walled town of Vannes is without doubt one of Brittany’s most attractive sights and a must-visit on any trip to the Gulf of Morbihan. Wander around the well-preserved medieval streets before enjoying a harbour-side lunch then taking a boat trip around the gulf. Kids will love the aquarium and butterflies.
Nantes this city used to be the capital of Brittany but is now in the neigbouring region of Loire Atlantique. Just an hour away it is worth a visit. It is well known for its amazing animated exhibition including a carousel and a giant elephant!
This beautiful part of the Brittany coast has numerous beaches nearby.
Among the best are :
Plage des Granges, and Pénestin, both just 15 mins drive from the house.
Brittany offers a wealth of varied landscapes - beautiful sandy beaches, deep forests and medieval towns, easily accessible from Ménéac’s central situation.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
