This well equipped and comfortable holiday home is an ideal base for exploring the many nearby tourist attractions in the area. These include the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mont St Michel, the medieval chateau town of Josselin and Moncontour a French “petite cite de caractere”.
The cottage comfortably sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms plus an adjoining sleeping area for a baby. Cot is provided. There are two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen/diner, a large sitting room with TV receiving UK channels and WiFi throughout the property.
The large garden is secured on all sides making it suitable for dogs.
The property in detail:
On entering the cottage you are immediately in the spacious kitchen/dinerwith a table and seating for 4 people. The kitchen is very well equipped. It has an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, washing machine and large American style Fridge/Freezer. There is a feature woodburner in the kitchen. This is not in use.
On the ground floor is a shower room and a separate WC.
The sitting room, with its galleried bedroom at double height is a real feature of the cottage. There is a luxurious corner sofa, and the woodburner makes it ideal for winter lets. There is a TV (UK channels) and DVD. Also plenty of DVD’s and Board Games.
There is also central heating. Fuel supplements may be applied to winter lets.
Bedroom 1 is a galleried area accessed directly from the sitting room. It has a King Size bed and there is an adjacent WC on this level.
Bedroom 2, with a "Juliet Balcony", has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, wash basin and WC.
The third sleeping area is adjacent to Bedroom 2 and is suitable for a baby. A cot is provided.
Please note: main bedrooms are on separate sides of the house
Linen and towels are included in the rental price.
There is also a quiet area/snug, outside Bedroom 2, ideal for reading.
There is parking for 2 cars on the driveway.
The large back garden has a patio area with outdoor table and chairs and a BBQ is provided.
The cottage is not accessible for wheelchairs and, as the bedrooms are both upstairs, is not suitable for guests with impaired mobility.
Pets are generally welcome. Please check with the owner first. A cleaning fee of £10 per week applies. We are able to help with your vet appointment prior to your return to the UK.
End of Stay Clean is offered for 50€, payable on departure. Otherwise guests are asked to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy state. Faiure to do this may result in withholding some or all of the Security Deposit.

Arrival and departure dates are flexible throughout the year allowing you to choose the most convenient ferry/airport travel.
A 20% discount is offered on Brittany Ferries crossings (or 25% for any ferry bookings made by 16th October, 2017!).
The village of St Vran is within walking distance of the property (1 minute drive). Here there is a boulangerie for the essential French bread and pastries! Along with a tabac and restaurant. A little further away is Merdrignac (5 minute drive) where there are a selection of bars, restaurants, boulangeries, butchers, a supermarket and veterinary centre.
On the outskirts of Merdrignac is Lac de Landrouet. This lovely lake comes alive in the summer months with music festivals, car boot sales and also water sports. In the winter it is lovely for a leisurely stroll.
Landrouet offers a swimming pool, 4 play pools making up the "AquaVal" complex. For more fun there is a steam bath, sauna, waterslide, massage benches and the water cannon. The supervised swimming pool and complex offer an abundance of activities and leisure pursuits. All ages can enjoy these wonderful facilities.
The north coast of Brittany is within easy distance. The nearest is the beautiful Plage de Morieux but you will never be short of beaches to visit. These include Pleneuf-val-Andre, Erquy and St.Cast le Guildo.
Further inland this area of Brittany has numerous pretty villages and French “petites cites de caracteres”. These include Josselin with its stunning medieval chateau, doll museum and popular Saturday market.
Moncontour is also worth a visit with its cobbled streets and chateau high above the town.
For larger towns nearby Loudeac has many shops. A little further away is the lovely town of Pontivy. Rennes can be reached in about one hour. It is the capital of Brittany. There are numerous shops and eating places centred around the lovely cobbled squares.
The world famous UNESCO Heritage Site at Mont St Michel is one of the most visited attractions in France. It is on an island separated from the mainland by a causeway. Always popular and it does get very busy in the summer season.
Brittany offers a wealth of varied landscapes - beautiful sandy beaches, deep forests and medieval towns.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
