Le Pressoir is a converted cider press with many rustic features. Stone steps lead up to an open-plan kitchenette and living room, with a dining table and a Breton-style fireplace with wood fire burner. Upstairs is an attic room with twin beds with lovely countryside views. On the ground floor is a double room and a bathroom with a bath, shower and heated towel rail. The bedroom leads out to a private terrace. There is a TV (freeview channels) and DVD player and WII is available on request.
It is one of three gites at Guebernez, a two-acre rural retreat with a solar-heated swimming pool surrounded by a south-facing decked sun terrace.
Our indoor games room has a pool table, table tennis, WII fit and a mini-fitness area. We have a library of books and DVDs. Our petanque pitch is ideally located to make the most of the evening sun, while our tranquil shady garden is the perfect place to curl up with a book.
We have a large vegetable patch and usually have plenty to share with our guests, along with free range eggs from our chickens.
Our local village is a 15-minute walk and has a pizzeria/creperie, restaurant, bakers, pharmacy and two bars. The historic town of Guemene sur Scorff is a 10-minute drive.
The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and cycling.

Le Pressoir is at Guebernez, a rural retreat which is ideally situated in central Brittany, surrounded by pretty villages, medieval market towns, unspolit countryside, lakes, lakeside beaches and the Morbihan coastline. A short walk away is the charming village of Ploerdut, which has a bakery, two bars, a creperie/pizzeria, corner shop, and a hugely popular restaurant, all set around a pretty church square. The restaurant, Chez Marie The, attracts locals and tourists from miles around for its hearty homecooked food, which is great value at €11.50 for three courses and wine.
Central Brittany is wonderfully unspoiled, with rolling hills, forests, wild flower meadows, traditional stone-built farms and fields of grazing cattle.
There are several lakes within a 20-minute drive from Guebernez, some with small beaches, while Brittany's largest lake, the Lac de Guerledan, is 30 minutes away and is popular for walking, cycling, sailing and kayaking.
The nearest beach, on the Morbihan coastline, is an easy 40-minute drive. Dozens of stunning sandy beaches are within an hour's drive. We still haven't visited them all.
The Nantes-Brest Canal and Blavet River are popular for canoeing and kayaking and pass through some of Brittany's prettiest towns and villages. Brittany is also known as an excellent fishing region, both on the coast and in rural areas.
