Its one King-size, one double and one twin bedroom sleeps 6 people comfortably, and all bedrooms have exposed beams and partially exposed stone walls. The Master, King size, bedroom has an en suite shower room, featuring a large walk in shower. Off the ground floor entrance hall there are solid wood doors leading to each of the three ground-floor bedrooms All bedrooms are situated on the north side ground floor, thereby providing cooler sleeping conditions during warm summer nights. Also situated on the ground floor is the family bathroom offering a full size bath, w.c. and separate shower. Outside, on the ground-floor patio, in the shade of the balcony, is a patio table and chairs and the gas BBQ is also conveniently to hand.
Rising from the entrance hall are the stairs which lead up to the light and airy open plan hay loft which retains many interesting features including the galleried stairs and the fully exposed roof structure. At the east end of the living area is the spacious lounge space with sofas, wood burning stove, wide-screen TV with HD Satellite reception of UK FreeSat channels, DVD and i-pod docking station. At the west end, the open plan kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including a double built in oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dish washer and Tassimo coffee machine (Nespresso machine available on request).
The dining area features a large farmhouse table which seats 6 and from both kitchen and lounge, French doors provide access to the very large (5m x 3m) south facing wooden balcony/first floor terrace. This is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing morning coffee or watch the sun go down with a glass of the local red! It is also totally secure (no external stairs) so the ideal indoor/outdoor, safe place for toddlers and young children to play outdoors whilst being supervised from the living area.
Adjacent to the gite is the south facing, secluded swimming pool with separate changing facilities. The pool is heated (End of May to September) and is one of the largest privately owned pools in the area, measuring 13m x 6m, with a depth of 2.4m at the deep end. At the shallow end, steps lead gently down to the perfect depth (1m), for children and toe dippers alike. The pool is surrounded by a large paved area and there are sun loungers as well as patio chairs, tables and pergolas offer some welcome shade. At dusk, the pool area comes alive when strategically placed lighting illuminates both the pool area and the Summer Terrace, whilst the under water lights bring out the best of the clear blue water.
A small 'orchard' with its eclectic mix of young peach, apricot, nectarine, plum and pear trees, lies just to the south side of the pool. Overlooking the pool, the large Summer Terrace provides a welcome shaded area on hot summer days. Specially designed for outdoor living the Terrace is furnished with a large hammock, relaxing sofa for those who enjoy reading, a dining table & chairs, fridge/freezer, dart board, Table Football table and i-pod docking station. An outdoor Table Tennis table, with sun-shade, is conveniently situated adjacent to the Summer terrace.
Next to the Summer Terrace is the well equipped gym and 4 person Sauna (additional charge applies to sauna) A corner of the gym has been set aside as a 'tourist information area' with various brochures, leaflets and photos to spark your imagination for days out in the local area. There are also sample menus from some local restaurants - which range from family-friendly pizzerias to Michelin starred restaurants.
To the south side of the property, the main garden is laid to over 1000m2 of grass, giving plenty of space for energetic ball games, a more relaxing game of Boules or Croquet on the Croquet 'Lawn'. Mini-football goals, a volleyball/badminton net and a 14ft trampoline with safety net are available for those with energy to burn. An enclosed kiddie's Playpark, with slide, swings, rope-ladder is situated adjacent to the trampoline.

Rural location surrounded by farmland with views across the Charente countryside. Situated just outside the quiet little hamlet of Le Lindois, Le Pommier is in a great location and is served by excellent restaurants and there are plenty of other interesting activities to keep everyone happy.
The quaint market town of La Rochefoucauld with its own Chateau, is just 10 minutes drive away, with a large supermarket, restaurants and shops and the historic city of Angoulême, the capital of the Charente, just 15 minutes further afield.
There are plenty of other attractions nearby. The freshwater leisure lakes of the Haute Charente with safe swimming areas, picnic tables, and cafes, or the lake Grand Etang de St Esteph with its sandy beach and shallow, warm water for paddling/swimming, lifeguard service and free (half hour) kayaking sessions also with walks and cycle tracks.
Families can have fun monkeying around at the Treetop Adventure Park at Massignac (10 mins away), with rope bridges, Tarzan swings, zip wires and more with various levels of difficulty and a tiny-tots adventure area.
The martyr village from the second world war of Oradour sur Glane will leave a lasting impression on you with the village ruins frozen in time and its excellent informative museum and exhibition.
The nearby village of Montemboeuf (8 mins) has a small local shop, boulangerie, pharmacy, restaurant & bar, butcher, café and doctor’s surgery.
The nearby first century Roman settlement of Cassinomagus at Chassenon is a unique place to visit with its thermal baths and vast archeological park and gardens with the opportunity for children to dress up in costumes.
Nautilis Aqua Centre, Angouleme has a large Indoor/outdoor pool complex with water slides and wave-maker. Large lake in the same area with footpath around the perimeter and sandy beach. 30 mins drive away.
The scenic town of Brantome, known as the Venice of the Perigord Vert, is about a one hour drive away just across the border in the northern Dordogne. Beautiful scenery, a medieval abbey and 11th century belfry with pavement cafes and restaurants, and large Friday Market. Large park and kayaking on the river Dronne, which circles the town.
