Welcome to La Petite Coquais a spacious, modern and contemporary Gite all on one level, set in a small, rural hamlet, within its own 16 acres of grounds in the department of Mayenne in the Pays de la Loire region of France. With its own 3 private fishing lakes with quality Carp,Commons and Mirrors ,Grass Carp and Siberian Sturgeon in our largest lake as well as Catfish (Silure),Carp many other species of Coarse fish Pike,Perch and Zander in our 2 smaller lakes, our guests return year after year to enjoy quality fishing in tranquil surroundings in our superbly equipped modern ,contemporary Gite.
Local Amenities
In our village of Renaze we have superb local amenities with a DIY store which sells fishing tackle and supplies which our fishing guest find very handy along with 2 supermarkets ,3 Boulangerie ,2 Banks,2 Restaurants,a Cinema ,showing English films, and a Pizza/Kebab takeaway and 3 hair and Beauty Salons and a Pharmacie.
We especially welcome families here at La Petite Coquais and a big hit with our younger
guests is collecting eggs from our many varieties of Chickens ,Ducks and Geese along with feeding our resident Goat Charlie and our friendly Sheep Pumpkin , Melon and Eddie the Ram.
The Gite is tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard with large screen satellite TV ,DVD player and free internet, along with central heating for our winter guests, please note ,metered fee payable on departure,subject to usage.
Kitchen/Dining
The superb well equipped kitchen wants for nothing,with a large range oven with 5 rings and wok burner,large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and 2 coffee machines,a Dolce Gusto and a Krupps barista style for real coffee lovers, with steamers, grills and toasters all to hand to hopefully make your stay a real home from home.
A light airy dining area has a with a comfy leather sofa which is ideal to catch the morning sun with a coffee and a book with large french doors leading out onto an enclosed private south facing garden which is a real sun trap for sun lovers at all times of the day.
Lounge/Living room
The rest of the accommodation comprises of a bright airy lounge area with a vaulted ceiling with plenty of large plush leather seating ,it is tastefully decorated with bespoke, oak ,handmade furniture making it feel spacious along with soft lighting and with a large screen satellite TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs available to watch and free wifi with radiators for your comfort during out of season stays.
Bedrooms
Three en suite bedrooms comprising:
Spacious master bedroom with king size double bed with matching tasteful furniture and decor leading through to private en suite shower facilities with field views.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 both with twin single beds and again tastefully decorated with matching furniture and decor and both with en suite facilities and radiators for your comfort.
Bathrooms
All 3 bathrooms have modern suites with Italian glass hand basins with double showers with massage jet facilities and toilets all with large mirrors and good lighting with large windows looking over fields.All with towel rails and radiators for your comfort.
Heating
Oil powered central heating with radiators with thermostats in all rooms making cold autumn mornings and cosy winter stays more comfortable for guests.Metered fee payable on departure in euros subject to usage.
Entertainment
On site satellite TV and DVD player with a large selections of movies available for guests.
Table football and various card and board games along with a large selection of books in the library are available for nights in or just relaxing.
We have a Boules/Petanque pitch in the garden and 3 private fishing lakes are available exclusively for guests at La Petite Coquais, fee payable @ €60 per angler per week ,no permits required.Please notify us prior to arrival for fishing.
Locally is a cinema showing English films and the La Fontaine English pub is only a short drive away with quiz nights ,real ales and good food available.
Locally numerous restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets are open daily all with excellent cuisine.
For children we have a large Bouncy Castle available for daily rent,this is weather dependant, fee payable locally.please ask on booking for more details if you wish to use the Castle.
Garden and Outside
Large french doors lead from the kitchen and dining area to a private secluded patio garden with a covered outdoor BBQ cooking area. This leads to a large patio with a canopy covered seating area for outside dining along with sun loungers on the lawn and a garden Bubble Spa/Jaccuzi to relax in with a glass of bubbly after a long day sightseeing or fishing.At the top of the secluded garden is a boules/petanque pitch on which to settle old family scores with a glass of wine.Alternatively just relax in the comfortable garden chairs and furniture and soak up the warm summer sun in the south facing garden.

Garden Bubble Spa/Jaccuzi,from June 1st to August 31st only.Towels are provided for guests.
An above ground small swimming pool is available on request for children.
Laundry room with washer and drying facilities and rotary airer is available for guests along with an iron and ironing board.A hairdryer is situated in the master bedroom for guests use.
In summary we feel La Petite Coquais is a perfect holiday base to relax in peace and tranquillity ,yet is only a short drive or walk to all local amenities and close to a wealth of cultural, sightseeing and leisure activities all within easy reach especially La Rincerie Watersports and Leisure Parc where guests can Wakeboard, Paddle Board ,Sail ,Canoe, hire Pedaloes and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the lake and man made Beach area complete with lifeguard in the summer.
Guests can visit some of the famous Chateaux and Vinyards of the region as well as the large medieval cities of Nantes with the world renowned Isle de Machines based on the works of Jules Verne a must, along with the scenic old towns of Rennes, Angers, Vitre and Laval, each with its own rich, unique history, Chateaux and culture with modern tram systems,and exclusive shopping.
Closer to La Petite Coquais are more local visitor attractions with Terra Botanica, a botanical eco theme and cultural parc a must and La Petite Couere ,a unique eco and farming museum with a varied collection of animals and model French village along with a superb vintage car and tractor collection.
More recently the new ATOLL shopping arena near Angers is very popular with our guests,with its many shops ,including C&A and 12 quality restaurants all on one site.Nearby are also the market towns of La Guerche de Bretagne and Chateau Gontier with superb markets and excellent bars and restaurants to sample superb local cuisine.
The jet set resort of La Baule is an ideal destination for a trip to the coast as are the coastal resorts of Dinan , Dinard and St Malo.
In summary we feel La Petite Coquais is an excellent luxury base for on site quality fishing and to explore the local area , Loire Valley and North West France with our guests returning year after year with a warm welcome always guaranteed.

From the northern Port and Airport of St Malo and Dinard head towards the City of Rennes,then on towards the town of Vitre and then La Geurche de Bretagne then on to Congrier ,then Renaze.
From the Channel ports of Calais, Caen and Dieppe head towards Rouen then Le Mans on to Laval then Craon then on to Renaze.
From all directions once in to Renaze head towards the large white water towers,turn opposite the towers, down the lane then over the small bridge and La Petite Coquais is sign posted on the right.
A rural, quiet location yet with all local amenities close by with only a short walk or drive to our village and with easy access to major roads routes for exploring the local region.
