Gérald and I welcome you to our French/Anglo family home, La Bellevue set in the village of Pouançay, between Saumur and Chinon surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. A visit to the Loire Valley in 2006 didn't see me return. Now, Mme Beaumont, wife to Gérald and Mum to our two gorgeous children, Augustin (12 yrs) and Constance (10 yrs), who will introduce you to our friendly 3 French hens!
In July 2011, we opened our bar à vin/bistrot, Bistrot Les Tontons, in the heart of Saumur. Five wonderful years past before pastures new beckoned. Today Gérald is Directeur and vigneron (winemaker) of two Loire Valley Châteaux.

Travelling in the direction of Poitiers/Loudun you'll pass through a village called La Motte Bourbon, exactly 1km outside of La Motte Bourbon turn right on to the D55, direction Pouançay/Berrie.
In front of you is the village Pouançay. Entering the village you will pass the Mairie and see the village church. Stop, indicate left and pull into the parking reservation in front of bordeaux coloured gates, press the buzzer, the gates will open and I'll be there to welcome you to our family home 'La Bellevue'.
La Maison du Vigneron has his own parking space which is suitable for all car sizes.
Pouançay: close to La Bellevue is the reputed Trésor Belge open for lunch, dinner and ‘happy hour’ between 5pm & 7pm (closed Mon & Tue). A scenic walk (9km/12km) is mapped, starting in front of the Mairie passing by vines and troglodyte caves, while a leisurely potter to the Table d’Orientation particularly spectacular at sun-set, gives an impressive 360° view of the surrounding area, highlighting châteaux and sights of interest.
St Leger de Montbrillais: (2kms) neighbouring Pouançay is a great little village for pick-up’s, St Leger has a post office, hairdresser, boulangerie (closed Wed), and a highly reputed boucher much favored by ourselves, we highly recommend trying the rillettes d’oie, and be prepared to queue on a Sunday morning!
Things To Do: discover fresh food markets, weekend brocantes (flea-markets), picture-postcard villages along the banks of the Loire river. Explore the gardens at Villandry, the exceptional Bioparc in Doué, take a boat ride along the Loire, sample local wines, discover The Plantagenets and visit the châteaux towns of Amboise, Angers, Azay le Rideau, Brézé, Brissac-Quincé, Candes St. Martin, Chenonceau, Chinon, Fontevraud l'Abbaye, Langeais, Loches, Montsoreau, Montreuil-Bellay, Saumur, Richelieu, Tours, Ussé, Villandry - all of which make a fabulous day out!
