This beautifully restored Gentilhommière dates back to the 17th Century and nestles in its own grounds flanked by woodland. Approached via a private driveway the ensemble of buildings is set around a courtyard with a huge lime tree providing shade over an outdoor terrace. Attention to detail throughout has resulted in very comfortable accommodation. From the courtyard the front door leads into the hallway, to the right of which is the sitting room with exposed stonework and beams and open fireplace. To the left is the dining room with double doors leading out to a delightful wysteria covered terrace with comfortable lounging furniture. The well-equipped kitchen with slate floor is off the dining room and has light oak units and granite work surfaces. Also on this floor is a separate WC. Stairs lead up from the hallway to a mezzanine study area and three large double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. One of the bathrooms is particularly large with Victorian style bath. Opposite the house, alongside the pool, is a shower room with WC. An archway leads through to the pool area with views across the countryside. Just outside the courtyard is a delightful, well equipped stone cottage for two people with its own private terraces for alfresco dining. The cottage may be rented with the Main House for a supplementary price.
A charming old stone property restored to a high standard set in a tranquil part of the Périgord Noir.
Please note: In High and Mid Seasons the cottage (sleeping 2 people) may be rented for a supplementary price making a total sleeping capacity of 8 people in both buildings. (Please see pricing box).

This property is based in the Dordogne (often referred to by its ancient name "The Périgord"). Although times may have changed over the years the beautiful Dordogne landscape, in one of the most beautiful areas of France, continues to offer something to amaze and delight everyone. This ancient land, deep in the heart of sunny south-west France, is perfect holiday country; a magical place that will reward all those who choose to explore it.
The Périgord Noir where the vast majority of our properties are located, is the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the Dordogne for here, in the triangle formed between the rivers Vézère and Dordogne, you will find the greatest concentration of natural wonders and historic sites, and the loveliest stretches of both rivers. The area is bounded by four famous towns and this property is well situated within this boundary - Sarlat, a medieval treasure house; Périgueux, a thriving and sophisticated small city; Bergerac, shippers of wine since the Middle ages and Monpazier, an extraordinarily well preserved bastide built by King Edward I in 1285.
Less then 1 hour from Bergerac airport, 1.5 hours from Brive airport, 2.5 hours from Bordeaux airport/TGV station and 2.5 hours from Toulouse airport.
