La Batonnière Basic Terms and Conditions 2020
Please note due to uncertain outcome of the Brexit deal we reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions due to any rule changes for travel requirements between the UK and Europe
We have tried to keep the basic booking conditions as brief as possible, but we do ask that you read them in their entirety. It is a condition of
booking that we receive a signed indication that you have read and agreed to all of the conditions below and that you have also read our Full Terms and Condition (please request to see our full T&Cs; and annexes)
1.Bookings & Confirmation
All bookings must be made provisionally by email or telephone to ensure availability. Bookings must be made on the supplied booking form
which must be completed in full. The copy of the booking conditions must be signed and dated by the person making the booking and
returned with a 25% deposit within 7 days of the provisional booking being made (unless booking is made within 8 weeks of the start date
of the rental period, in which case the full amount is payable immediately.) Failure to confirm your booking within this time limit will
result in the loss of your booking. The owners accept no liability for any loss incurred as a result of a lost booking.
Confirmation of booking will be sent on receipt of a fully completed booking form, signed acceptance of the booking conditions and the
deposit. An invoice will be enclosed detailing amounts outstanding and payment due date. Full payment for the booking is due no later than
8 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. Reminders for the payment are entirely at the discretion of the owners and they shall not be obliged to send them. Failure to send the payment in time may result in the loss of part or all of the booking, and the owners accept no liability for any loss incurred as
a result.
2,Insurance
We advise that you have sufficient holiday insurance in place at the time of your booking
The client is to take out a travel insurance policy giving full personal liability cover for all members of the party (under French law this is not covered by the property owners insurance) All visitors to France are advised to bring with them a valid E111 health card or equivalent
3.Charges
Prices are per property, per week and include reasonable consumption of gas, water & electricity and free use of the property’s pool in season. Any rentals out of season will be adjusted to allow for extra consumption.
4 . Breakage Deposit
A breakage/security deposit of £/€300 is payable on arrival This will be detailed in the invoice. This deposit will be returned in
full within 2 weeks from the end of the holiday on the condition that the property is left as it was found, clean throughout and with no
breakages. (For minor breakages eg broken cup or plate, please simply replace items).otherwise a charge is made from the security deposit, for any additional cleaning that may be necessary. Alternatively you can pay for a final clean.
5.Damage & Complaints
Damages to the property are the sole responsibility of the guest and reimbursement to cover said damages will be deducted from the
breakage deposit where possible. In cases where the cost of repairing said damages exceeds the breakage deposit, the owners shall be
entitled to seek compensation from the guests. In case of minor breakages please try and replace them eg from the supermarket
Only plastic glasses, plastic bottles and plastic crockery are allowed in the pool area.
Every effort is made to ensure that the property will suit your requirements, but in the event of any complaint, notification must be
made to the owners or their representatives within 48 hours of the occurrence of any problem.
6.Cancellations: should you need to cancel your booking after it has been confirmed, the person making the booking must notify us in writing/including email. In the event of a cancellation, the following charges, based on the basic rental cost, are payable from the date we receive your notification. We would advise that you insure against cancellation.
6a More than 56 days before the starting date – initial 25% deposit payment
6b 56 -29 days – 50%, of your holiday cost unless we can rebook the property, in which case we will refund any payment to the level of the subsequent booking, less the deposit, less an administration fee of £25.
6c 28 days or less – 100%, of your holiday cost unless we can rebook the property, in which case we will refund any payment to the level of the subsequent booking, less the deposit,less an administration fee of £25.
6d In the event that the owners have to cancel a booking, all payments made by that date will be returned in full.
7.Arrivals/Departures
Guests are requested to arrive at their holiday property no earlier than 17.00 local time on the day of arrival, and to vacate the
property no later than 10.00 local time on the day of departure. The owners have no responsibility to provide any accommodation
outside of these times and guests have no entitlement to remain inside the property or within the grounds after 10.00 local time on
the day of departure.
8.There is a strict no smoking policy (tobacco and e-cigarettes) in the property and games room, Smoking - Permitted outside only. when smoking in the grounds, please ensure cigarette butts are cleaned up
9.Drainage – As in most of rural France, the properties have drainage to septic tanks. It is therefore vital that ONLY toilet tissue(2 ply) and non-bleach products are used in the toilet. Wet wipes, cotton wool, sanitary and Baby products, etc must be disposed of in the bins provided. Failure to follow these conditions will result in expensive inconvenience and all charges incurred will be at the liability of guests.
10.Rubbish and Re-Cycling – Please ensure that all your rubbish and re-cycling is cleared from the Gite at the end of your stay. No re-cycling items should be placed in the general green rubbish bin. Only black tied plastic sacks to be used for general rubbish.
11.Cleaning: The Client agrees to be a considerate tenant and to take good care of the accommodation and the facilities. The Client also agrees to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. With ovens and BBQs cleaned, We provide an end of stay cleaning service at a supplementary charge of 70€ for the convenience of our clients.
12.Number of Guests: At no time may any persons other than those documented on the booking form occupy any property or use any facilities at the property.
The owners reserve the right to terminate any booking (either before or during the period) should the stated occupancy of the property
be exceeded or any other party associated with the guests be found on the property without explicit permission.
13 Responsibilities The Owners shall not be liable to the Client:-
13a for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery, or appliance in the property or garden.
13b for the loss, damage or injury, which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond the control of the Owners.
13c for the loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event, the Owners shall within seven days of notification to the Client, refund all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.
13d for any loss, injury, death or damage which may be incurred while staying at the property
13 e for the personal safety and security of guests (or their belongings) whilst on our premises / using items supplied by ourselves. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that all children are supervised, particularly in and around the swimming pool, terraces area and stairways.
Use of any or all amenities on the property is entirely at the guests’ own risk. The owners cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to or from personal belonging and any motor vehicle whilst at the property.
Under no circumstances shall the Owners liability exceed the amount paid by the Client to the Owners for the rental period.
14. Taxe de Sejour Our local commune now makes a charge for taxe de sejour, what is sometimes referred to as “tourist tax”, At the rate of 60 cents per adult per night, payable when you arrive.
