We sleep from 2 to 8 in each of the 2 converted barns with 4 bedrooms in each. Pets are welcome.
We are close to the Dordogne river where you can experience all kinds of activities from just relaxing on the river beach to hiring canoes to lazily paddle down river stopping off for a picnic lunch or a drink at one of the many café bars or take a trip on a historic Gabbare at Beynac.
If pre- history is your thing this area has world renowned caves to visit with world heritage status cave paintings to view. Indeed one of these is just 5 minutes up the road.
You can visit the weekly local markets where all manner of fresh produce is for sale- ideal for the foodies with the local specialities available.
Golfing is available within a short drive and likewise there are many fishing lakes in easy reach stocked with specimen Carp, Catfish and many other varieties.
The children will love it here as there are so many attractions for them. There is a steam tourist train at Martel and flying demonstrations with the Eagles near Rocamadour and nearby you can also feed the apes. At Gramat the zoo is one of the largest in France with over 1000animals including endangered species. Another great attraction is Insectorama where you can see many strange and different creepy crawlies – the kids will love it. There are also adventure playgrounds and the Aquaparc at Quercyland.
As you would expect many superb chateaux are open to visit along with many different kinds of gardens.
If you are adventurous then how about a walking trail through the tree tops at one of the local “airparc”, perhaps with ziplining to follow or perhaps a ride in a hot air balloon or hang gliding in tandem.
We have numerous walking and cycling routes close by and bike hire and equipment for all ages and styles can be rented and be here for when you arrive – just let us know & we will arrange it for you.
Domme is a short drive away and is classified as one of the best bastide villages in France. The views from here are fantastic and the kids will love the tourist train ride around the streets. There are many individual shops and artisans selling locally made articles and a great choice of restaurants for that lazy lunch or dinner.
From May to October is festival & Fete season where something is happening in the local villages be it music gigs, local fairs, vide greniers (car boot sales) or Petanque competions.
We have details of all these and many other sites and attractions available for you to look at and decide on visiting in the information packs in the barns.
In short there are numerous things to see and do for all ages and interests within easy reach of the barn so why not get your week/s booked now? and look forward to enjoying a memorable holiday.
These are reviews we have received from guests who have rented with us
Peaceful, well equipped, rental. Friendly hosts and lots to do in the local area.”
We had a fantastic holiday here for 12 days. Our friendly hosts greeted us with a wonderful welcome basket, with home made bread and cake, which was was a great surprise. It was a clean and spacious property. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and the internet (wi fi) and Sky TV kept our teenagers very happy. It was such a peaceful setting to come back to at the end of each day. Lots to do in the local area including canoe rental, bike hire, picnics, medieval villages and pre historic caves to explore. Ideally located for both the Lot and Dordogne rivers. It was helpful to have a sat nav on our hire car so we could explore all the country roads. Loved the property and the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Plenty of places to eat out in Gourdon and Salrlat. Ideally located for both the Lot and Dordogne rivers. It was helpful to have a sat nav so we could explore all the country roads. Reviewed August 18, 2015 for a stay in July 2015
We stayed at this lovely home from home in early July and were so pleased we chose it. Every little detail has been carefully considered from the equipment in the kitchen to the super powerful hairdryer. There was a lovely welcome pack including wine, milk and home made preserve and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We even came 'home' on the second day to find a home baked cake awaiting us - delicious with the blueberry compote that came with it. Although there was only two of us, the lounge and kitchen diner could easily accommodate the 8 people that there is bed space for and without feeling overcrowded I would think. The barn has a shared garden, although we never used it as there is also a private decked area with table and chairs which is perfectly positioned to catch the evening sun with a cool beer after a day's sightseeing - it was still 28 degrees and only just losing the sun at 9 o'clock at night after all! The barn is positioned about 8 miles from Gourdon which has several reasonably large supermarkets and is centrally located for all the major tourist towns - I would highly recommend trips to the beautiful Domme, Rocamador and the market at Sarlat. St Circ la Popie is a little further away but the most beautiful place I have seen in a very long time - not for the infirm, as its on the side of a hill, but so worth the drive to get there if you are able bodied. I cannot recommend the barn enough as a perfect base for exploring the dordogne and they even allow your four legged friend (s) to join you subject to a small charge and some very reasonable rules. Well done Bob, it might have 'tuck-sum-duin' but it was well worth it!!
Friendly, clean, comfortable, very well situated”
We had a super holiday here in August. We had a super welcome, wonderful to be greeted so warmly and the generous offering of homemade cake, bread, fruit juice, wine, butter and jam was so thoughtful. The barn was spacious, cheerfully decorated, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Our children (aged 5, 8 and 10) greatly enjoyed the garden, plenty of space for kicking a ball around, or simply playing on the swingset. We went swimming every day at the local pool which was really good, and cheap! about 8 euros for the whole family, fantastic! as well as being next to the supermarket for daily groceries. The barn is in a lovely rural setting, very peaceful. I particularly enjoyed early evening sitting out on the decking with a glass of wine, relaxing after a day out.
So much to do in the area, we visited caves at Cougnac and Lascaux (warning - book a few days in advance at the tourist office in Montignac, also include the trip to Le Thot, great for the kids bringing it all to life); We visited gardens at Marqueyssac, Eyringnac and Cadiot; Chateaux at Bonaguil and Castelnaud; also visited Sarlat, Domme, Rocamadour and of course, Gourdon, the market on Saturdays was great, plenty of local produce and a crepe lady to keep the children happy!
Thoroughly recommended, thank you to Megan and Bob for a great stay.
PEPE & PARTY"
Hello, we are a group of five Spaniards who were in Bob and Megan house in Fajoles, France, from 1 to 5 August 2016. The house is great, very new and very clean. The place is ideal as a hub to visit all the medieval villages of the valley of the Dordogne and Lot. Megan cooks very well and especially their lemon cake. Bob is a good conversationalist and willing at all times to help with anything. We keep an excellent memory. Esther, Pilar, Lourdes, Ignacio and Pepe "
