Moulin le Ponto, Brittany, is a group of 4 gites set within eight acres of landscaped grounds and gardens, with fishing lakes, heated swimming pool (for use between May and September) and private terraces. Originally it was an old farmhouse with a water mill. It has been sympathetically converted to offer a unique holiday location. Here you can relax in central Brittany in peaceful surroundings. Enjoy the tranquility of the rural French countryside or while away the time carp fishing onsite. Particularly suitable for fishing holidays with family or friends, with a choice of lakes to choose from within our grounds.
The gardens surrounding the holiday gites boast a mill with a wheel and a feeder canal, which is spring fed, cascading down the waterfall into the lake below.
The owners have added to the facilities recently. There is now a Games Room with TV, music, bar football, pool table and darts. Also there is a toddlers’ area.
Swedish wood fired hot tub €75 Pw or €15 Pd ( must be hired for the full duration of your stay . As the “tubs” are wood fired guests are asked to give at least one day’s notice to use them.

Please contact the owner for prices and availability of individual accommodation for smaller groups. the availability calendar shows when one or more of the gites are reserved. However, it may be possible to book individual gites - please enquire.

All four gites can be rented together for large groups to sleep a maximum of 18 guests. Please enquire for individual accommodation pricing. Please note payment is in euros.
Le Grenier sleeps 7 in 3 bedrooms and has 2 bathrooms
Le Ponto sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms. It has 2 bathrooms
La Perche sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms and has 1 bathroom
Le Carp sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom and has 1 bathroom
Cots are also available if baby is coming too!


LOCAL AREA:
The village of Le Sourn is approximately 1km from the property. It has a a few small shops, including a boulangerie, butcher and pharmacy. There is also a bar.
Just a 10 minute drive away from Moulin le Ponto is the town of Pontivy. This bustling market town has numerous restaurants and cafés as well as three or four large supermarkets.
There is a golf course nearby.
Approximately 45 minutes away is the beautiful southern Brittany coast. Here you can enjoy fresh, locally caught seafood at one of the many harbourside restaurants in the area.
Also within easy reach of Le Sourn is the walled medieval city of Vannes. Well worth a visit to see the many historic buildings or just a bit of retail therapy in the elegant shops!
The nearby Nantes-Brest canal offers miles of beautiful canalside walking or cycling.
THE BRITTANY REGION
Moulin le Ponto is in the Department of Morbihan in the beautiful region of Brittany in northern France.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
LOCAL AREA
Pontivy is 1à minutes by car, an historic town having an impressive chateau with a good choice of restaurants, supermarkets and interesting shops, each Monday there is a large market for fresh vegetables, cheese, bread and all sorts of other gastronomic delights.
Also within easy distance is the beautiful walled city of Vannes, Concarneau and the lovely chateau town of Josselin.
Many Brittany beaches are approximately an hour's drive from Moulin le Ponto.
