We had a peaceful 10 night stay in this cottage, we loved the rural peaceful location, wonderful walks in the surrounding areas, .This cottage is well equipped and very comfortable, The owner was 1st class with his communication with us regarding the cottage and the welcome package we were very grateful for.
If you are looking a place to go to recharge your batteries and get away from it all this is a superb cottage and yet it is a good central location to visit many history sites in Normandy.
we would happily return again to the cottage and to see the resident owl and the wonderful wildlife in the surrounding fields again
We were so lucky to come across this wonderful countryside retreat. We have two medium size dogs and were struggling to get anywhere to stay but the owner was so understanding and welcoming. When we arrived, we had no idea what to expect & were very impressed as we drove up! It is very rural yet not isolated due to the town of Sourdeval being only 10 minutes away by car, there you will find everything you need, with some great little Boulangerie's, Butcher & supermarket. If you have dogs like us there are so many places to walk them in pleasant unspoiled landscapes. The house itself is a pretty little cottage that is more spacious than it looks with outside BBQ/eating area with epic views. Lovely compact kitchen, great shower, very comfy bed & magnificent fireplace for the colder cosy evenings. If you are travelling or thinking of then this place is fab! Finally, the owner is so helpful and friendly, you only need to ask. Fantastic stay.
La Petit Chouette is one of the most peaceful and well equipped gites/cottages we have stayed in over the years, and we immediately felt at home. Easily accessible along a private lane, it is very comfortable, quiet and has lovely views over the valley. There is plenty of room for everyone and the super-king bed was very comfortable. There is a local family that neighbours the property but you rarely hear or see them. The property has all the cooking utensils you will need, a barbeque and there is plenty of hot water at all times. The welcome pack of wine, milk and biscuits was a nice touch. There is plenty of storage space and more than enough off road parking for 2/3 cars. The Wi-Fi is reliable and there are some local information leaflets in English to help you explore the local area. Sourdeval has a lovely cheese & wine shop and two supermarkets providing pretty much everything you'll need, but be aware of half day closing on Wednesday. Andrew is extremely efficient in responding to any enquiries.
