La Guingette (visit site) Serving French tapas, La Guingette gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. Located in the charming Trentemoult district of Nantes, this is a place with a village feel on the other side of the river. The locals gather for tournaments in none other than the traditional board game and the bar is boat-shaped for drinkers looking for something different. L'industrie (Facebook page) With an emphasis on affordable, homemade food and friendly service, L'industrie is not as exclusive as many of the other top restaurants in Nantes but it's a great place for a laid-back lunch or evening meal in vibrant surroundings. The portions are very generous and the decor is cosy yet cool. This is the place to head if you want a really good burger served with excellent homemade fries. La Raffinerie (visit site) This restaurant gets very busy so book ahead to avoid disappointment. With a charming, traditional French ambience and excellent beef and fish dishes, this is a firm favourite with locals and visitors. Outdoor seating is available in the warmer months, offering you the authentic French pavement dining experience. Les Enfants Terribles (visit site) Offering delicious, traditional regional cuisine with a contemporary twist, Les Enfants Terribles is a classy venue with a relaxed and in formal feel. Boasting an impressive wine list yet reasonable prices, this restaurant is great for those wanting a sophisticated night out from their gite Pays de la Loire and who want fine dining without steep prices. The dessert list here is particularly good so be sure to save room for a pudding.
