The kitchen features old beams and exposed stonework, and a large fire place with a wood burner.
The well equipped kitchen is a handmade cherry wood kitchen with a large 8 burner range cooker with 3 ovens, dishwasher, and a large freezer and large fridge.
There is a large farmhouse table which seats 12 people, for family meals and spending time together.
Off the hallway, there is a large downstairs full bathroom with a bath, which also houses the laundry facilities.
To the right of the hallway is the door to the large spacious lounge with open fireplace and again exposed stonework and beams. There are three sofas and a DVD player and TV with UK free view.
Just off the lounge there is a door which leads down two steps into a large bedroom (number 5), which again has exposed beams and a light and airy feel with a 120cm bed and 3 single beds.
Upstairs, there are a further four bedrooms. The first is the master double which is a lovely very large double bedroom, tastefully furnished and a lovely sunny outlook with plenty of room for a cot also if need be. It has an en-suite with a large shower, loo and wash basin.
The second double bedroom is a larger than average room which again is traditionally furnished and has an en-suite with shower, toilet and wash basin.
Of the remaining two bedrooms, one is a large triple room with three separate good size single beds, and the other is a smaller twin room with two good size singles and a built in wardrobe.
To the outside there is a large walled garden to the front and side of the property with a large patio area and stunning views to the side and rear of the property across the vineyards and fields with a view for miles. This whole area is walled and gated for the privacy and security for the little ones! There is a BBQ on the patio also for those 'al fresco' evenings.
The private swimming pool, which is flooded with sunlight all day is to the rear of the property and is set in rolling open gardens, and is fully alarmed. It has a large terrace area to the side and is a great sun trap with a mixture of sun loungers and seating. It is exclusively for clients renting this property and is approx 10x5meters, with shallow long steps for the young ones, and is approx 220m deep at the deepest. It is totally private, not overlooked by anyone, and looks out onto the beautiful rolling countryside surrounding the property.
there is a very large games barn that has table tennis snooker air hocky and a fitness area.
there is plenty of places to explore in this beautiful region that has easy drives to Cognac Saintes and La Rochelle, the coast has long sany beaches at Royan and Rochfort and ferries that will take you to the islands of ill du Madam and Aix as well as the well known ill du re.
locally to chez maurice is nere where you will find the loval baker a butcher and a bar that seves food as well. and Aulnay where the nearest supermarket is as well as restuarants.
the lake at Les Gour is only a ten minuite drive and has a beach for safe swimming.

Fontaine chalendray is a sleepy hill top village full of old houses and winding streets, the only sound you here is the birds and the church bells. there is a post office and a bar that opens on a saturday.
