Château de Courtomer is a short drive from the Channel ports and Paris, but a million miles away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. As you enter the gates of the private estate the only sound you will hear is the wind in the trees and birdsong. The château was built to impress and entertain, inpsired by Versailles and it does just that. The ground floor rooms are light filled and designed ‘en filade’: one room spills into another as you walk from the marble floored reception hall to the large dining room and onwards to the sitting room and library. All public rooms and en suite bedrooms offer fine, uninterrupted views over the park or farmland that surround the Château. The château was recently renovated by it’s American owner to offer all the conveniences of modern living whilst retaining the elegance and beauty of an 18th century way of life. If you would like to upgrade your stay to include help planning trips, the hire of an in house chef, full housekeeping and breakfast our bi-lingual team can organise this for you.

When you are in the village of Courtomer, follow the signs for Le Merlerault.
When you find the signs for Le Vieux Courtomer, you will see the château on your right. It is set back off the road so you won't necessarily see it right away. You will see tall iron gates first. The entrance is on the little path, right after the main iron gates (these are typically closed to protect the ancient bridge over the outer moat).
There are no specific signs for Chateau de Courtomer. If you drive past the graveyard, you have gone too far.
The local village of Courtomer has a post office, pharmacy, open-air market, butcher, grocer, two bakeries, a bar/tabac (newspapers, light meals), cider shop, hardware store, and church.
