Our Home' in St Sernin de Duras is a lovely peaceful place in which to unwind and re charge the batteries. It is surrounded by rolling vine covered countryside with some beautiful roads and tracks in which to run or cycle. The friendly French village boasts a 'tabac' and tennis courts. The Dordogne at Port St Foye (15 mins) has a beach with swimming and play area, which is excellent for both children and adults alike. The nearby hilltop town of Duras, typically French and unspoilt, has a weekly street market with stalls selling colourful local produce. There are shops, pavement bars in the square and an ancient chateau with a fascinating museum of past French life. Throughout the summer there are many events eg The Duras wine festival, antiques fairs and spectacular firework extavaganza set to music with the Chateau as its backdrop. All around are family run vineyards, where you can visit to taste and buy their wines.

The village of Saint Sernin is approx 6km NE of Duras. From the D708 turn onto the D311 and follow this road for approx 2 km.
As you enter the village, turn right immediately before the Italian restaurant and follow the road up a slight hill (go past the Vacation Villa’s on the right) bearing left at the top ( do not go straight ahead onto a new track). Take the next right which is Berthurille and our house is at the head of the cul de sac, straight in front of you.
If you travel in from Bergerac Airport then on approaching the village, continue straight on past the tennis courts and tabac on your left. 100 Meters further you will reach the Restaurant again on your left, turn left here and follow the directions above.
If you have a Sat Nav, I would recommend bringing it with you and put in the address. Follow the directions above once you find the restaurant in the village.
St Sernin is a very quiet french village with a mixture of English and French residents. It has a nice Tabac where you can get a drink, tennis courts anda wonderful marie and Halle where night markets are held in summer.
