The gite "Un Petit Coin de France" is part of a converted 170 year old barn specifically to retain its character and many original features with exposed beams, cool tiled floors and a wood burner for those chilly autumn nights.
The gite is independent. Downstairs there is an open plan lounge/dining with 2 double doors leading out to your private terrace where you can sit out on a warm evening and barbecue to your heart's content. The kitchen is also open plan and equipped with everything you should need. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms, both en-suite with beech wood floors, beams and the original stone work. The windows in all the rooms look out onto open countryside.
I have furnished the gite to give a homely feel and with your comfort in mind and therefore have also placed in the gite a cool box and picnic set so that you can explore the beautiful Aveyron countryside.
The 9m x 4m swimming pool is heated by solar panels and has a large terraced sun bathing area with an arbour to provide shelter when needed and a magnificent private view. The pool is fenced to meet with French safety regulations.
It is open between 1st June & 30th September but this can be earlier depending on the weather. If you would like to use it outside of these dates please contact us.
Only a 5 minute drive from the market village of Rignac, the village also has a weekly market, two supermarkets, an excellent butcher, boulangerie, café & bar and not forgetting a lovely open air swimming pool, lake and tennis courts.
The gite is ideally situated in the Aveyron countryside but only a short drive from some stunningly beautiful villages such as Belcastel, Peyrusse le Roc, Villefranche de Rouergue, Cirq Lapopie, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Bozouls, Conques, Najac, the caves at Foissac, Roquefort, the Millau viaduc and the plateau of Aubrac world famous for its Laguiole knives....the list is exhausting...this is truly a French retreat.

The gite is only 10 minute drive from the village of Belcastel classed as "l'un des plus beaux villages en France" with its magnificent chateaux, Roman bridge and gourmet restaurant.
Also close by is Mirabel, a hill top village used by the French resistance to escape capture in the 2nd world war and Peyrusse le Roc with its twin towers set in a valley that looks resembles a scene from Lord of the Rings
To entertain the children there is an Alpaca farm nearby where you can spend an afternoon learning about about them, pet them and you can even ride them or alternatively you could always take a picnic down to the Aveyron river flowing through the medieval village Previnquieres.
There is so much to see in this area but it is also great for activities such as fishing, walking, cycling, canoeing and kayaking

Three things made this holiday wonderful.
1. A lovely property with all mod cons and a fabulous private pool (perfect when it reached 38 degrees). Comfortable with all the character of a french property and an incredible view.
2. Lovely people; Lynne and Gary made us feel very welcome and their local knowledge was spot on when we came to explore this area.
3. Lovely area: This really is "La France Profonde" with unspoilt villages, great wine (Marcillac) and incredible sights (Belcastel and Peyrusse-le-Roc especially).
We managed to completely unwind and enjoy french life at the same time.
Loved it!
